It's Time for Change

Yeah touchy!!! Was looking for forum blue and gold

That's the last one I bought in 2012 and will buy until they add color again. I was sorely disappointed to see the "new" ones.

Wow. I'm looking at prohockeyrumors.com and they must be way behind on reporting all of that.

I think Blake somehow made this team even worse. Arvy to the Oilers: if you can't beat them, join them.

eh we'll see the pundits? say Kings were losers overall free agency wise. I think we'll be first round exits until BLuc Kopi and Doughty move on (nothing against the latter two).

It is just Blake. That is the problem. Dude is just a cancer in this organization as a player and a GM.

Hiring friends
Hiring Bergevin
Kovy deal
Peterson deal
PLD deal
PLD deal part 2
Letting Matt Roy go for nothing allowing the team not to upgrade at all during the season
Signing a player who we do not need, who has never played a full season in the NHL to a 4 million per year contract, for 4 years.
Resigining Trevor Lewis to teach the kids. Wanna teach the kids? Make him a coach.

Feel free to add to the list. Seriously screw this guy.
I agree with most of what you said in a philosophical sense, but go watch Paul Maurice’s on ice interview just after he hoisted the cup. Maybe it’s just a soundbite, but that dude is about as straight of a shooter as they come in terms of coaches. You can tell he truly believed what he was saying, and what he said was, it’s not the coaches, it’s not the GM, it’s the players on the ice. I think our leadership is probably out of touch, or just mostly checked out. It happens to the best of us, when you’ve been doing something for so long, and already hit the highest of highs, reached the pinnacle. I know what Maurice said of his panthers players could absolutely be said of the 2012 era Kings, and I just don’t think you could say the same thing about this current group. Or any of our rosters for the last decade, save for maybe the emerging squad that faced the Oilers back in the first set of our 3 consecutive playoff series losses.

Completely agree with you. I do not think our vets are great leaders. At least on ice. But in the end, the GM puts the team on ice and that is where it starts. I wish we had players with that kind of passion that Paul Maurice had. Let alone anyone in the organization.

Totally get your frustration. It feels like the team's been stuck in a loop of bad decisions. The PLD trade was supposed to be a game-changer, but it really didn’t pan out, did it? And the new coach situation seems like a bit of a mess. I can’t wrap my head around the Jeannot trade or the free agency moves either—Foegele and Edmundson didn’t exactly make me feel excited about the season. It’s like they’re just trying to fix one mistake with another, and the roster doesn’t look promising for the playoffs. It’s hard to stay optimistic when it feels like everything’s going sideways.

The Foegele deal seems like a good one - sure it's unlikely he will match his 2023-4 performance and we bought high, but he seems like a quality addition.

The other deals just show that the Blake/Bergevin/Robitaille brain trust are living in the past and leading us farther and farther away from the Cup than towards it.

On the positive, we still had a good deal of talent on the team and they could be both successful and fun to watch if our coaching staff can update the system, one ice leadership can step up, players play to their potential (with several needing to take a big step forward), and we don't see any desperation moves out of our valiant brain trust in an attempt to save their jobs.

Most likely outcome is that we miss the playoffs this year and have a soft reset to set ourselves up to be a contender once the Doughty contract expires.
