I think what you’re seeing is just the general announcement that the playoffs themselves begin on Saturday, but the speculation is that the Kings will play their first game Sunday.

Seems really weird to start the playoff series on Easter Sunday.

It doesn't make any sense. I wish I knew what day I'm going to Game One, but according to the talking heads, the NHL has to wait to see who the Caps are playing first. It makes no sense. In what way does that affect the Kings/Oilers?

One source is speculating that the Kings will play Game One on Tuesday. Another says Sunday. What the hell?

Weird.

If it's Montreal -Washington it's affects whole NHL schedule ,if it is Columbus than nobody actually cares much

Apparently this is all about the broadcast scheduling. On the bright side, the game should be over at approximately 7:00pm tonight, so shortly thereafter we should get information. In the meantime my ticket still says May 15th 2027.

Well, Easter or not, I prefer Sunday over Monday. I guess we'll know by tonight... and I'm also guessing if Montreal wasn't involved this wouldn't be a big deal.

Agreed... I could wind up watching a replay. Heck Passover also ends on Sunday with relatives and feasting. I can't remember ever watching a Kings playoff game on Easter.

This. Lakers already have Saturday/Tuesday at Staples.

Game 2 for the Kings is definitely on Wednesday. The only question is whether Game 1 is Sunday or Monday.

Okay let me get this straight: It's Thursday afternoon on the East Coast where the NHL's headquartered, and just over 48 hours to puck drop for the first game of the Stanley Cup playoffs...and they still have not determined what day the Kings will start their playoff round?

Seriously, what the hell are they waiting for?
