It feels like ragebait. The reason we had point regression is because the west got stronger. He has no regrets and thinks he made no mistakes. Sounds like Byfield is getting the 1c position so I doubt based on his talk we are going after a big name center.

He was noncommittal as to Doughty, which was interesting. Part of it is that he hasn't met with him yet. He said he's meeting with Kopitar and Doughty next week. Asked if Doughty was still a 1D (versus Clark), he mentioned that Drew doesn't want to play 15 minutes.

I may have taken it wrong, but this really makes me think Drew puts himself ahead of the team. We've seen it in the long shifts he takes and unwillingness to reduce his hours...so is the end result of making him RD2 that he requests a trade?

Whatever the case, I am really hoping the Kings are wise enough not to extend him unless the expectation, and compensation, aligns to a 3rd pairing role with the team.
