I don’t think it’s the cash itself anyone is worried about. We know organizations carry insurance for exact instances like this, where a player gets injured, yet they have to continue paying his contract. Ownership has insurance to cover Kevin’s money, so an acquired player costing 7 mill is just a wash in terms of actual dollars. That’s all he’s going to need.
And you look at the cash piece wrong. We’ve got cap space to take on a contract, which is just as valuable as a prospect.
No, I did not look at the cash piece wrong. I was making a point that in order for the Kings to spend it, they would have to spend much of their future assets, as that extra cash gets them nothing without spending what should be considered their "precious" assets. That’s all he’s going to need.

The point is, to fill that $7.8 million of cap Space, Holland is going to have to trade future assets to bring a player in.. is that really what you want the Kings to be doing at this point? Spending extra future assets(and probably overpaying at that), for a chance to squeak into the playoffs and get bounced in the first round again?

Well, you can look at it like this. In with Panarin, out with Fiala. So, any big boost that breadboy was going to give has been mostly washed away.I'm glad the Kings have so much depth.
