I read an article to that effect too so there seems to be a gap before capfriendly and what others are reporting. The last estimate was that both Anderson and Durzi would receive $2m/yr contracts so that would put us right in line with our cap space (provided that actually occurs). Surpised the estimate for Anderson is that low, to be honest.
Here's how I calculate it.
With 15 forwards, 7 defense, and 2 goalies signed...and including all the other stuff, they're at $80,986,667. So that's $1,513,333 in cap space.
But when they sign Anderson and Durzi that'll be 9 D with 15 F. So at a minimum they'll have another $2,332,500 by sending down/waiving Andersson, Spence, & Moverare. More if they demote Kupari and/or Bjornfot instead.
So as of right now, they effectively have $3,845,833.
But it could be more if they plan on carrying 13 forwards (demote Kaliyev or risk losing Andersson on waivers), which would give them another $800k or so.
But they also have to keep enough space for when players get hurt short-term but still count against the cap, and they need to bring in someone in to play.
