Kopitar draws praise from Dionne after becoming Kings' all-time leading scorer | NHL.com

Me:
From scoring in your debut game to all time Kings scoring leader...who knew, am i right? Personally, if you surpass Iginla as my favorite player (holding back tears) ...it was earned.

From Racoon Jesus, to legend and now ICON status. Well done big man.

I may not like him as official captain of the Kings, but I still respect Kopi as a player. Now that he's surpassed Dionne as all-time franchise leader in points, the man now has gotten his due as the new King of Kings; it's also fitting that he would do it in his final season. Congrats, Kopi.

I'm sure that in the future, the Kings will draft a player that will eventually surpass Kopi in points in franchise history, but for now, let's give him a toast.

It’s disgraceful that Quick was treated the way he was after being memorialized in that sculpture in front of Staples. He should have retired a King.
Really? He still wanted to play, which is fine, but he sucked. He lost his job here but still had a little cache in trade. Vegas didn't offer him anything so as a free agent he went to the Rangers for under a mil. He's been ok as a cheap backup there. I actually think we did him a favor with the trade. He'd lost his starting job and to see him the next season (assuming we even resigned him for 900k) as a once a month backup when Copley was sick would have been embarrassing.

Quick could still sign with the Kings in order to mentor Hammer in Ontario for a season while Portillo gets a chance with the Kings. Wishful thinking, I know...

After watching this you just knew great things were going to come from this "kid".

Still remember that all these years later without the video. Knew we had someone special there. Still remember seeing him lift the cup at the parade/rally thinking we'd never be here without him (and many others). Great memories. Great King.
