Emerging Byfield, veteran core aim to take next step in Hiller’s 1st full season as coach
www.nhl.com
There are a lot of X factors in the way of players (will Byfield be able to further elevate his game at center, will Turcotte/Clarke/Thomas be able to find their foot, make an impact and complete the season at the NHL level), how well will their unseasoned Coach do, can they find/establish solid on ice leadership, and the biggest X factor - how much have the teams in the Pacific/Central improved.I don't have much faith in this roster even reaching the playoffs.
The Red Solo? We're winning the Cup bitches
My only concern with Clarke is he got his ALOT in Ontario and a fair amount in his very short NHL career and with guys like Tom Wilson lining him up he better learn real fast to have his head on a swivel. I mean if Rempe caught him he might not get up.It's time to sink of swim with the post-Kopitar/Doughty era. Kempe, Fiala and Byfield need to be the 3 best players on the team next season. Spence and Clarke need to show that someone will be ready to accept the torch whenever Doughty is ready to hand it off. My money is on Clarke having a breakout season.

No, the Stanley cup
Do you really not know the brand Stanley?
If I were the NHL's CEO, I'd sue the company making this cup for trademark infringement. I sure don't want the Stanley Cup naming rights to be associated with a plain, boring looking thermo-mug (which was made in 2016). And Stanley since 1913? Hmph, never heard of that one and the actual Stanley Cup predates that company by 20 years. Seems that company is trying to exploit the naming rights and muddle the history of the Cup in an annoyingly opportunistic manner.
Ask people what the Stanley Cup (if you know about hockey) is and they will be like, "The Stanley Cup? Isn't that a reusable tumbler?"
