Kings trade for Scott Laughton

With his faceoff prowess, this wouldn't be a horrible deal if he was locked up for 2 more years at $1.5 million. A cheap guy to win draws and be good in the room. But he's a UFA in a couple months. What are we doing here? This isn't a "rent with option to buy".

I'd rather just play the kids and see what we have in them as opposed to play Laughton and then try to convince him to stay in June.

His grit, hits and faceoff skills will for sure be valuable to us, we lack in all of those areas. But if he hits the UFA market they speculate that he will get three seasons upwards $3MM.

I don’t know if they have plans for him beyond this season. But I think he’d make a good 3C for this team. If not then he’s a UFA. So we’ll see.
