Kings trading Quick and a first plus to Columbus?0

It takes two to tango and to me all the signs point to AZ did not want to tango (and got burned subsequently), McCabe wasn't who they wanted and they liked solving both holes via one 1st rounder enough to do it.

After hearing all the post-trade talk it's very clear the Kings were never truly in on Chychrun. AZ wanted either a 1st rounder + more high picks OR top end prospects + high picks. The Kings would have traded the 1st but Ottawa's was better. The Kings have the top end prospects (Byfield and Clarke) but weren't willing to trade them. They have the high picks, but again Ottawa's are better.

They never had a real chance to get Chychrun.

That and AZ did not want money coming back. That franchise is on a shoe string budget. Kings needed to move money to make it work and the Yotes wanted no part in that. Pics and Prospects only.
