***Kings vs. Penguins (day early) GDT & Dustin Brown Appreciation Thread 2/11/23***

Having been there in person, one of the more enjoyable nights in the arena in quite a while. The ceremony, 6 goals, 4 goals for Kempe, Shutout for Copper, full barn, former Kings drinking from the Cup in Brown's box, and Crosby gets kicked out. Stellar evening.

My daughter said "This is the greatest game I've ever been to!!" when Crosby got kicked out.

(we were not at any of the Cup run games - she didn't really become a fan until 2015)

Posting in both threads - Yeah that was great, we watched the special then the game, was like 5 hours. It felt like an event, and gave me the goosebumps, and tears, seeing Greener and Bob Miller and Dustin choking up and Foxy. Then the Kings came out, destroyed the Penguins, made Sidney lose his marbles, Kempe sets a record, Copley gets a shutout. Felt like it was 2012 again and gave me about the same feels as going to the rally/parade. Truly special and I'm so glad it was aired basically uninterrupted. Perfect 5 hours of hockey and we loved it. Having said that, I don't really see the uhh, likeness, in the statue - I assume it's supposed to kind of artistically represent the whole 2012 team, or I just don't know much about art/statues, but that looks more like my wife's father (a literal old lumberjack) than Dustin Brown. Either way - dude's got a banner in the rafters and a statue, just a kid from Ithaca and I remember him getting drafted when I was.. 12? Awesome!

You sure your nickname is Kopi Pevs? Afterall you didn't mention Kopi!s 3 assists!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how well Bob Miller looked and sounded!!
