The missing out on Marner stings. And stings even more he goes to a division rival. Vegas had to be his intention all along if he agreed to waive his NMC.

Holland said he wanted to go "big game hunting" and the biggest UFA is gone. So now what ... does he have a trade in the works? Is Gavy the "big game"? The rest of the UFAs out there will only improve the Kings marginally IMO.

I agree, Holland using those cap dollars to make this signing BEFORE the UFA frenzy begins tomorrow likely signals the idea that Marner to Vegas is a done deal. I’m still hopeful they will take a hard look at pursuing some serious hockey trades as per our discussion this past weekend, and also making a concerted effort to sign Marchand.
