***LA Kings @ Colorado Avalanche GDT 11/13/24 7:00pm on TNT, True & max***

So tonight's plan:

Come out strong. Knock off before the start of the second.

TBH, this is the Kings team we expected all season. Losing on the road to the teams we expect them to lose to. 2.5 shots per period for the last two periods, which is horrible. Those two periods were embarrassing.

Top line was the only line contributing tonight. Team is going nowhere when the other 9 guys are just spectators. Danault and Byfield especially are not carrying their weight this season. Would be nice to see some offense from Lee too. Big dude has disappeared.

Lee looks really bad and is losing the majority of physical battles. May be time to send him down and pull up someone who can contribute offensively (Fagemo or Madden who seems to have turned a corner). It's sad, but the player we need is Greentree who has proven that the OHL is no challenge for him (31 points in 17 games).

I agree, both Danault and Byfield need to step up. Between the two of them, though, I am more worried about Danault and moving Moore to Kopi's line won't help in regards to getting Danault going.

Talent-wise, Byfield is getting the short end of the stick in regards to linemates but that is to be expected based on how he has performed so far this season and his inability to usurp Danault. Really hoping to see the pre-season Byfield make an appearance.

Also, hopefully Keumper is back soon as we need him. Copely has not look good in Ontario so far and needs to get in quite a few more games (ideally) before heading back to the NHL.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed within +/-1 of 22 saves by kings goalies, nobody guessed near 13 saves for the avs:

22 kings saves (2 points):
dannybuoy1

21,23 kings saves (1 point):
VegasHockey
sonnyboy11

Big congrats to @dannybuoy1 for being the only poster to get even half the available points. I don't know what else to say about that game but the 2nd and 3rd periods were giving me flashbacks to the ineptitude of those 96-97 kings. At least I didn't buy a ticket for that.
