***LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers GDT 4/14/25 7:00pm on FanDuel & NHL Network***

Jim, give me a break, the refs have NOT been consistent. A hook the hands is a penalty 100% of the time. Getting a scrub in a headlock after he pushes a star player, when everyone is scrumming, is NOT a penalty virtually ever, especially when you get two handed in the face right after. At the very least, it’s coincidental minors. I can’t stand the help Edmonton receives.

Great first period. Nice PK, PP goal, and a nice hip check by Kempe. Now, stay out of the damn box! Stop letting the Oilers goat you into a penalty! And of course Nyssa got to see 3 goals. Woo hoo!

Looks like the dinner jackets aren't dead yet. If they beat Philly in reg tomorrow and Islanders on thurs and Montreal loses Wed to Carolina in reg they're in (I think). I still have a grudge from '93.

Liam Greentree had 5G 1A last night in playoff win over Kitchener. Kings got some studs in the prospect pool.

I know that junior level hockey players usually have a hard time to transition into the pro leagues unless they're supremely gifted in talent and/or have a great amount of hockey IQ but Greentree looks like he could fit in the Kings roster with his style as a power forward. If LA can draft two more of these type of players, then they will be a really tough team to play against in the future. I'm quite biased favorably towards having power forwards in a hockey team.

I think sitting McCrybaby says a lot. In a game that has major potential implications for home ice in the playoffs, do you sit your best player if he's 100%. No, and he shouldn't let himself be put in the stands. Perhaps he isn't as healed as they made it out recently, or there are some flare ups from the weekend game.

And a quick edit: Rat Perry is top 3 most hated player of ALL TIME for me, potentially #1.

It's nice showing some physicality in the game, LA, but you better not overdo it 'cause you do not want to risk any untimely injuries as the playoffs really come near. The injury bug is a team's worst enemy in the playoffs; 3/4ths of the time it's often the reason a team gets bounced out of the playoffs.
