***LA Kings @ Minnesota Wild GDT 3/17/25 5:00pm on FanDuel***

ENG for Minnesota. That TO penalty actually was Danault's fault; he tried to backhand pass the puck to TO but misplayed it and forcing TO to take a tripping penalty. Danault single-handedly cost us the game tonight with that idiotic pass attempt.

Game over. Thanks, Danault. You just single-handedly gave the game away to the Wild with that brain-dead pass attempt of yours, which TO was unable to receive and was forced to take that costly tripping penalty. Also, this loss is partly your fault, DD, for that cross-checking penalty you committed earlier in the second period. And it was looking just about well for LA up to that point. So much for trying to sweep Minnesota this season.

Kings had blue line issues all night long. And DD's dum-dum unnecessary cross-check really hurt.

Oh well, onto Chicago and hopefully some payback.

This game is the perfect example of what the modern NHL is now. The difference between a win and a loss is 1 mistake. This is exactly why teams go after game breaking offensive players. More goals means bigger margin for error.

And when a game goes to 3-on-3 OT, even one small mistake can change everything, and there is NO margin for error in 3-on-3 OT. At least LA were able to achieve two points last time.

Just want to say, Trevor Moore is utterly useless these days. I'm not sure why he's still on the roster.

I "love" the Kings especially when they lose, didn't watch the entire game live earlier so watching replay now, its painful. Best part of the broadcast was the shout out to JC birthday tomorrow, best wishes and take care!

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed Kempe for the first kings goal and/or those that predicted the Kuemper shutout would break up at +/-2minutes of 1:51 of the second:

Congratulations to randdog as the only poster to get all 4 points. As for the game, that's a tough one that turns on a single play. Do we really blame Danault for trying to make a play and then Moore for missing a bouncing puck? Should they have played for OT and the point? One of the things about having a hot goalie is you want to use them, take a chance or two. Sometimes it burns you, but this is still clearly a team that needs to sort out how to find offense reliably.

Especially since their rate of PP opportunities and their rate of conversion is a black hole. They are scoring at half the rate on the PP than they were last year. They had 52 PP goals last year, thus far they've scored 22 goals on the PP through 66 games. That means over the final 16 games they might score 5 more goals if things hold. Last year they could expect 10 goals over those same 16 games. The broadcast mentioned that the Kings have won the most games this year in the NHL when scoring 2 goals or less, they're also one of the highest scoring teams facing an empty net (clearly a function of playing close tight games with 18 goals scored vs only 6 against). Its clear that with the trade deadline come and gone they either need to find a solution in depth scoring or on the PP if they are going to find any breathing room in the race for the division and home ice.
