GDT ***LA Kings @ Ottawa Senators GDT 11/15/25 4:00pm on FanDuel***

Right shot defensemen currently in Ontario.

Salin - undersized at 5' 11". 183 lbs. Little AHL experience.Good skater. Think Spence with less offensive upside.

Millar - Good size at 6' 5". 220 lbs. Solid defender +19 last season. Little to no offense

And then there's Burroughs...

Sure hope Drew is not lost long term... the Kings right side problem is very exposed.

No Gavi to bale out the team this time... damn...

Give Salin a chance. Sometimes a players just needs a chance, and can rise to the occasion. If he flops after 5 games we can go back to Burroughs. The Kings' of course are probably the least likely organization to do this, but many more intrepid outfits would take the opportunity to give the kid a look...

He was quite highly regarded is his draft year..."Salin activates in the OZ more often than any other draft-eligible defender in the league. He’s in constant motion, engaging in hand-offs and constantly being down low during cycles. He’s also very active at activating into play. Defensively, he is a decent on-puck defender who engages physically quite a bit and makes some well-timed pokechecks"

HERE's BURROUGHS!

Again I won’t complain about 2 more points and 4 wins in a row but it was a real struggle to stay awake in the 3rd period.

I thought Stutzle looked pretty good for the Sens. Byfield looked better. Not sure I’ve ever seen a high sticking penalty draw blood with no double minor called. So that was a new one.

Keep it rolling.

I remember Salin’s bio from Elite Prospects. But he has played less than 10 games in Ontario. Would be a pretty big gamble. Maybe try the 25-year old big guy first. At least he has played a full season in the system. If he fails, go to Burroughs until the Reign coaches say Otto is ready.

I mean, what's the gamble? He'll play sheltered minutes, maybe see a little PP2 time? He's not going to skate in circles with his laces untied. This is how teams find their diamonds in the rough. When was the last time the Kings found one of their own? It's worth the risk IMO.

Clarke - Anderson
Ceci - Edmundson
Doumalin - Salin

It’s a huge gamble. Undersized, inexperienced Euro rink player just thrown into a NHL lineup after 9 AHL games. I saw more from Millar than I did from Salin in preseason games.

I thought I saw the ref signal to Fiala that Byfield tugged on his mouth/lip and assumed he meant that’s why it bleed🤷🏼🤷🏼

i don’t know why I keep doing this, but I keep answering the question but not hitting submit. I wouldn’t have gotten the SOG but I would’ve gotten 0 points. Oh well.

Everything I’ve seen just says Doughty’s out for weeks or a significant time. Which is not good. Mostly because the only real replacement is Burroughs, no offense to him. Unless they move a lefty over & put in Moverare. The good news might be that Clarke gets more minutes. But in the 3rd period he got over 5 minutes TOI while others were getting 6 or 7 minutes. So I don’t know what it takes to get him more playing time or for Hiller to trust him more. Especially since he make good defensive plays when he was out there.

Also, I don’t care if it was boring. We got a win on the road under difficult circumstances. We’re not perfect but so far it’s a perfect road trip. Hopefully these last 2 games they won’t be lulled into thinking they can relax.

The more I see Edmunson improving, the more I realize it’s our system. We have a defense friendly system and I think it inflated gavrikov’s value. They will find a way to make this work - someone else will step up the way Gavrikov did.

I expect to see:

Edmundson/Clarke
Mikey/Ceci
Dumo/Burroughs

If Salin does get called up it won't be until the game with San Jose. We might see Moverare in Washington instead of Burroughs. I say give Salin a chance in DC.

MIllar got a real good look in the preseason, and he looked really good in the Bakersfield game, which I was at in-person. I kept being like "who's #50 out there?" because he was playing well.

Or there's Burroughs.
