***LA Kings @ Philadelphia Flyers GDT 12/19/24 4:30pm on ESPN+, Hulu & Disney+***

Game over. Just when it looked like it was going to be another chaotic night for LA, they took complete control of the 3rd period. On to Nashville, and good grief, ANOTHER 10:00 AM game (well, 10:30 to be more precise but still)? In Nashville of all places? This road schedule for the Kings is just haywire.

GKG!

Fiala and Kopi putting the puck in the net is just what the doctor ordered going into this weekend back-to-back.

And someone please remind Subban that the Kings have been kicking ass against the elite teams in the West.

ESPN just sucks at getting knowledgeable people for hockey. And while Subban was a good player, as commentator he is as bad as Faust. Well, this is ESPN we're talking about, aka [L]EC Sports Media Central. And though I was too young at the time to remember, I miss Gary Thorne and Bill Clement since those two guys actually made hockey games aired by ESPN so refreshing and worthwhile at the time with their level-headed takes.

I'd like to personally thank the Boston Bruins for blowing a 2 goal lead to the Oil Queens tonight. Good job!

After watching the KINGS-FLYERS game - I kinda wish I watched the Philly-Detroit game Wednesday night as I heard for about a BILLION FREAKING TIMES what a great game it was…

The play by Turcotte on Kopi’s 2nd goal was something special. Turcotte used his speed and vision to create a grade A scoring opportunity out of a very pedestrian 1v3 counter rush up the ice. He walks around his defender and puts a perfect backhand pass onto Kopi’s stick in the slot.

That whole sequence might be Turcotte’s best shift as an NHLer. He starts the play by gaining the puck in his own zone and he finds Gavrikov exiting the zone on the opposite boards. Then Turcotte skates across the neutral zone into an area pass by Gavi. He blows past a defending forward and around a d-man. He peaks over his shoulder and sees Kopi in the high slot and serves up a backhand pass for an easy tap in goal. This kid has the goods.

Too bad so many people wont see the game (they don't have ESPN+). At the very least it should air on the local channel like the NFL does with streaming games and MNF on ESPN.
But a lot of the folks that don't have ESPN+ have Disney+.... so they could watch it. That's what I did.

Ok so I didn't get to watch the whole game real-time and most of that time, for some reason I could only watch the broadcast with the announcers calling it in Spanish. And it was amazing. The call for Fiala's first goal went on for a minute (or so it seemed). Such an extreme range between the play announcer and the color guy. I only understood maybe every 10 words plus some of the player's names but it didn't matter, sounded like a cup playoff game with these announcers. I'm rewatching the game with the regular ESPN guys and while I do understand it better it is definitely not as fun. Sticking with the Espanol broadcast from now on
