Week 28 of the LA Kings Prospect Tracker brings a clear-cut headline: Jared Woolley is the last Kings prospect alive in the CHL playoffs. He earned it, too — scoring the series-clincher against fellow Kings prospect Carter George to send Kitchener to the conference finals. Carter George, Jimmy Lombardi, and Vojtech Cihar all saw their playoff runs come to an end this week, but each one of them has something more in store before packing up their gear and hitting the golf course.
Housekeeping note: Once a prospect’s season has concluded and their final report has been filed, they will no longer be featured in this year’s Prospect Tracker and will instead be listed here. Players no longer featured: Henry Brzustewicz (Ontario Reign), Jan Chovan (Sudbury Wolves), Ryan Conmy (Boston College), Kristian Epperson (Denver), Caeden Herrington (Vermont), Brendan McMorrow (Denver), James Reeder (Denver), Will Sharpe (Vancouver Giants), Hampton Slukynsky (Western Michigan), Jack Sparkes (Clarkson), and Petteri Rimpinen (Kiekko-Espoo).
The following reports cover games played through the end of day Tuesday, April 21st.
Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Carter George, Soo Greyhounds, Goalie (57th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 2.66 GAA, .907 SV%, 5 SO, 1 goal, 2 assists, 28 wins in 56 games played
George’s season has ended. The Soo pushed back against elimination, winning Game 4 with George stopping 20 of 22 shots, but Kitchener closed it out in Game 5. In the end, it just wasn’t enough to beat a dominant Kitchener team. He finishes his playoff run with a 2.36 GAA, .910 save percentage, and one shutout across 10 games. Over the whole season, George posted 28 wins, five shutouts, and cemented his status as one of the more uniquely credentialed goaltenders in the OHL: a two-time Jim Rutherford Trophy finalist, the only netminder in OHL history to score two career goals, and a WJC bronze medalist with Canada. Mayor’s Manor has learned that George will be joining Ontario on Wednesday, where Brzustewicz, Slukynsky, and company are gearing up for the Reign’s playoff push.

Jimmy Lombardi, Flint Firebirds, Center (125th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 40 goals, 42 assists, plus-35, 73 PIM in 73 games played
Lombardi’s breakout season — and Flint’s historic one — has come to an end after being swept by Liam Greentree and the Windsor Spitfires in the second round. The loss no doubt stings, but the body of work this year speaks for itself. Lombardi set career highs in all categories, doing so on a Firebirds team that set franchise records for wins and points in the regular season. If there were any questions coming into this season about whether his offensive game could still develop, there aren’t anymore. We’ve also confirmed Lombardi will join the Reign squad on Friday to close out his year getting some practice at the pro level.
Jared Woolley, Kitchener Rangers, LH Defenseman (164th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 13 goals, 28 assists, plus-36, 95 PIM in 75 games played
Woolley saved his best for when it counted most. Having gone without a goal in his first eight playoff games, he scored the series-clinching goal against fellow Kings prospect Carter George — creating space on a two-on-two to receive a breakaway pass, then flipping the puck over George’s blocker. Kitchener now advances to the conference finals to face Windsor, and Woolley heads there with one of the more memorable goals of his junior career already in the bank.

Western Hockey League (WHL)
Vojtech Cihar, Kelowna Rockets, Forward (59th overall in 2025)
2025-26 WHL Stats: 18 goals, 26 assists, plus-25, 20 PIM in 40 games played
Kelowna fell to Everett in five games, losing Game 5 in overtime 2-1, despite a Cihar assist on the tying goal with just 1:13 remaining in regulation. It was more of what he showed in Game 4, when he assisted on the tying goal with 7.7 seconds remaining and then set up the overtime winner to stave off elimination. Three points in two games, all on the most important goals of the series, after being held pointless through the first three. Regardless of the result, that sounds like a player who rises to meet the moment.
Kelowna’s playoff run is over, but their season isn’t. As Memorial Cup hosts, Kelowna is guaranteed a spot in the tournament regardless of their WHL playoff loss. They’ll face the champions of each league in a round robin before the elimination rounds begin in late May. For Cihar, that means more hockey, and a shot at playing for the ultimate prize in junior hockey.
