Week 15 of the Prospect Tracker brought strong performances across junior and college hockey. Jan Chovan scored three goals and dominated the faceoff dot in Sudbury’s upset over first-place Flint, while Henry Brzustewicz tallied four points over the weekend. Fellow OHL players Carter George and Jared Woolley remain undefeated with their new teams. Meanwhile, college hockey’s Kristian Epperson and James Reeder teamed up for the game-winner in Denver’s win over fourth-ranked North Dakota. The following reports cover games played through the end of day Tuesday, January 20th.
Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Henry Brzustewicz, London Knights, RH Defenseman (31st overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 12 goals, 14 assists, minus-14, 43 PIM in 34 games played
Brzustewicz put on a show this weekend, racking up four points in two games. He scored Friday against Sarnia in a 4-1 win, then dished out three assists Saturday in a thrilling 5-4 victory over Owen Sound. All three helpers came from quarterbacking the play from the point or high slot, showcasing his puck-moving ability; but Brzustewicz’s offensive skill isn’t one-dimensional. The right-shot blueliner complemented his playmaking with 12 shots on goal over the weekend. Now leading all London defensemen in points, he’s equally talented at setting up teammates as creating his own offense.

Jan Chovan, Sudbury Wolves, Center/Right Wing (184th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 11 goals, 14 assists, minus-23, 4 PIM in 36 games played
Continuing our watch of Chovan’s transition to full-time center, he went 52% on faceoffs over the past week and won 69% of his draws in Sudbury’s massive 7-2 upset over first-place Flint. He also scored the opening and closing goals of that game, firing the first glove-side from the point and flipping in the second net-front. Sudbury then played an interleague match against the QMJHL’s Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, where he netted the game-winner, cleaning up a rebound just outside the blue paint. Chovan now leads the Wolves in power-play goals and points with eight and 13, respectively. By dominating faceoffs in key situations and producing on special teams, the sixth-round pick from Slovakia is proving his transition to North American hockey is ahead of schedule.

Carter George, Soo Greyhounds, Goalie (57th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 2.84 GAA, .904 SV%, 2 SO, 1 assist, 13 wins in 25 games played
George has been playing lights out for Soo since his trade there earlier this month. In his first three games with a new team, the 20-year-old netminder has posted a .953 save percentage, a 1.00 goals against average, a shutout, and three wins. He wears number 32 because of Jonathan Quick, and he did a pretty good impression of LA’s Cup winning netminder this week, making a phenomenal glove save while stretching out across the crease. The second-round pick’s ability to step into a new situation mid-season and immediately dominate speaks to his adaptability and mental toughness—traits that will serve him well at the pro level.

Liam Greentree, Windsor Spitfires, Right Wing (26th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 18 goals, 19 assists, plus-6, 37 PIM in 28 games played
Greentree earned first star honors in Windsor’s 5-2 victory over Brampton, recording a goal and two assists. LA’s future power forward blasted a one-timer from the top of the left circle, scoring seven-hole on the play. The Spitfires have posted an 8-1-1 record over their past 10 games, and are only one point back of third-place Flint with two games in hand. The Kings first-round pick in 2024 continues to be a driving force for Windsor and his consistent production going forward will be key to their success.

Jimmy Lombardi, Flint Firebirds, Center (125th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 25 goals, 23 assists, plus-19, 46 PIM in 43 games played
Lombardi scored twice over the weekend, finding the net against Sudbury and North Bay. It has been a breakout year for Lombardi, and on both goals he showed off his powerful wrist shot and the ability to find the right shooting lane. Those skills are part of why the fourth-round pick is tied for second in game-winning goals in the OHL and has three more points than last year in 20 fewer games. The Firebirds slipped three points back of first place after going 1-2-0, including a blowout loss to Sudbury where their backup goaltender allowed five goals on 13 shots. The race for the top spot in the OHL is tight, but Flint and Lombardi are positioned as well as anyone to finish first.
Jared Woolley, Kitchener Rangers, LH Defenseman (164th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 11 goals, 16 assists, plus-16, 50 PIM in 41 games played
Since acquiring Woolley a few weeks ago, Kitchener are undefeated with a 4-0-0 record. While the two-way defenseman didn’t register a point over the weekend, he is playing on the first pair in all situations and will be a key piece for the Rangers down the stretch. Kitchener sits first in their division and sixth place overall, just nine points back from the top spot in the OHL.

Western Hockey League (WHL)
Vojtěch Čihař, Kelowna Rockets, Forward (59th overall in 2025)
2025-26 WHL Stats: 0 goals, 5 assists, even plus-minus, 4 PIM in 5 games played
Čihař has hit the ground running in North America, recording five assists in his first five games with Kelowna. Arriving soon after winning a silver medal and being awarded MVP honors at the World Junior Championship, he’s shown no signs of slowing down. While Čihař hasn’t scored his first WHL goal quite yet, LA’s second-round pick from last summer has already generated 11 shots on goal and has quickly found chemistry with his linemates. Sitting down in an interview with RocketFAN, he talked about his move to Kelowna this year, saying, “I thought I would stay in the Czech Republic all season, but I needed a change. Kelowna is the best team for me now.” Čihař is adapting to the WHL’s faster, more offensive style quite well and should continue to improve as he gets more experience on North American ice.
Will Sharpe, Vancouver Giants, LH Defenseman (216th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 4 goals, 13 assists, minus-3, 20 PIM in 37 games played
Another Kings prospect who was traded before the CHL Trade Deadline, Sharpe scored his first goal with Vancouver, breaking an eight-game pointless drought that extended back to his final games with Kelowna. LA’s seventh-round pick found himself wide open and buried the puck from below the hash marks. He now has 17 points in 37 games, just below a half-point-per-game pace. The team has gone 1-3-2 since Sharpe joined, and sits in 16th place in the WHL.

COLLEGE HOCKEY (NCAA)
Ryan Conmy, Boston College, Right Wing (182nd overall in 2023)
2025-26 Stats: 8 goals, 6 assists, plus-2, 8 PIM in 20 games played
Conmy showed off with a goal scorer’s goal this past week, ripping a one-timer top shelf glove-side from below the left hash marks. The shifty right winger continues to find ways to produce despite BC’s recent struggles, as the Eagles went 0-1-1 against Providence (Hockey East’s top ranked team) and dropped three spots to 15th in the national rankings. With eight goals in 20 games, third most on the team, Conmy has established himself as one of BC’s most reliable offensive threats this season. Now, the push begins to put himself in line for a possible entry level contract at the end of the season.

Kristian Epperson, Univ. of Denver, Left Wing (88th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 7 goals, 5 assists, minus-2, 12 PIM in 25 games played
Denver split their series with fourth-ranked North Dakota last weekend, getting shut out in the opener before bouncing back with a 3-2 victory. Epperson had his second multi-point night of the season, scoring the opening goal and assisting on fellow Kings prospect James Reeder’s game-winner. The goal came as the third-round pick positioned himself wide open in the slot, then buried a wrister off a pass from below the goal line. The Pioneers held at ninth in the national rankings this week and sit five points behind North Dakota in the NCHC.

Caeden Herrington, Univ. of Vermont, RH Defenseman (120th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 1 goal, 4 assists, minus-8, 10 PIM in 20 games played
Vermont split a weekend series against Connecticut, losing 4-1 before bouncing back to win 4-2 the following day. Herrington couldn’t find the scoresheet in either game, extending his drought to seven games without a point. After scoring in his collegiate debut, the first-year rearguard has struggled to find consistency, yet he remains a fixture in Vermont’s lineup, averaging 18:20 in ice time on the second pairing. As he continues to gain confidence joining the rush, the offense should follow for the Vermont native.
Brendan McMorrow, Univ. of Denver, Left Wing (196th overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 2 goals, 5 assists, plus-6, 4 PIM in 17 games played
There is still no official update on McMorrow’s timetable to return from the broken finger he sustained at the World Junior Championship. However, we’ve privately heard estimates of around 4-6 weeks post-surgery. It’s been three weeks since the injury occurred (while playing on the penalty kill in Team USA’s loss to Finland). The hard-working, high-motor winger will hopefully be back to full health and available to play for Denver before their regular seasons wraps up and the NCHC Conference gets going.
James Reeder, Univ. of Denver, Right Wing (198th overall in 2024)
2025-26 Stats: 6 goals, 11 assists, plus-4, 2 PIM in 25 games played
Reeder scored the game-winning goal in Denver’s win over fourth-ranked North Dakota, converting on a second-chance opportunity by pouncing on a loose puck. That goal was assisted by fellow Kings prospect Kristian Epperson. Reeder is playing on Denver’s top line and averaging 17:50 in ice time, showing just how much trust coach David Carle has in him. With 17 points in 25 games, he’s now four points away from surpassing last season’s total and is just shy of a point-per-game pace.

Hampton Slukynsky, Western Michigan Univ., Goalie (118th overall in 2023)
2025-26 Stats: 2.37 GAA, .909 SV%, 3 SO, 2 assists, 16 wins in 22 games played
Western Michigan had no games scheduled this week, but they return to action this weekend with a back-to-back series against seventh-ranked Minnesota Duluth. LA’s top goaltending prospect is riding a seven-game win streak and was recently named to the Richter Award watchlist for the best goaltender in D1 hockey. The Broncos are ranked third nationally, yet trail North Dakota by nine points for first place in the NCHC.
Jack Sparkes, Clarkson Univ., RH Defenseman (180th overall in 2022)
2025-26 Stats: 0 goals, 1 assist, minus-2, 22 PIM in 23 games played
Since moving up in the lineup three weeks ago, Sparkes has averaged 12:41 in time on ice. He went pointless this weekend but generated nine shot attempts across two games, with three reaching the net. While offensive production from a shutdown defenseman isn’t expected, the sixth-round pick’s shot mentality shows he’s making the most of moving up in the lineup.
EUROPEAN LEAGUES
Petteri Rimpinen, Liiga-Kiekko-Espoo, Goalie (152nd overall in 2025)
2025-26 Stats: 2.79 GAA, .894 SV%, 1 SO, 8 wins in 23 games played
Rimpinen has missed the past five games while recovering from illness. LA’s fifth-round pick contracted the flu during the World Junior Championship in Minnesota, where we later learned he played through some sickness against Canada. He’s been sidelined ever since. Finnish netminder is expected to return to Kiekko-Espoo’s lineup this coming week. In his absence they went 4-6-1, yet moved up two spots to ninth place in the Liiga standings.
