Yes, the coaching change was only step one. That saidThis acknowledges that the coaching change was a needed coaching change but not a full philosophical change, which is what's needed.
Vegas and Edmonton are bad this year. Think about how terrible the Kings have been for most of the season. Vegas is only 4 points better. As long as the Kings finish in the top 3 in the division I think they’ve got as good a chance as anyone to get into the 2nd round.I was going to say that most likely the Kings will play EDM but now I'm not so sure. It's a little muddled. The Kings best shot getting out of the first round is if they play Anaheim. The Ducks are on a bit of a slide at the moment.
I don't give the Kings much of a shot of beating Vegas, EDM or Colorado which seem to be the other possibilities.
I still think it was best for the Kings (in the long run) to miss the playoffs but here we are. I just hope this doesn't give the Kings management some "confidence" this is actually a good team. There needs to be some big changes in the off season...including the coach....IMO.

To be fair, they didn’t blow the whole 3-0 lead, as Seattle never tied it up. Still, your points remain true and disturbing, as the game should never have been that close.I’m so happy to see the boys clinch a PO spot. BUT…dumping a 3-0 lead to a non-PO contender that’s had a sub-par season and their 4th string goalie when it counted the most is pathetic. IMO, they should all be a bit embarrassed this morning.
I’m with Eddie Garcia that this team has given me 0 reason to think they can win even one PO game, let alone an entire series. They just seem to lack focus and talent. Their breakout last night was terrible. If it wasn’t for those lucky bounces that QB got, the Kings would have LOST that game. The score would have been 3-2 Kraken. That’s NOT good enough.
More than the POs, I’m looking forward to the moves that I hope KH will make this summer to create a contender. He has 2 full seasons with Bread to do so.
I'm thinking he might be sick. He was terrible all night.Has anyone read or heard why Panarin sat the final 7:30 of the game last night?
I think so too. He was awful last night...slow, sloppy, hesitant...he did not appear to be the same playmaker. Let's just hope it's something minor, but something did seem off with him for sure.I'm thinking he might be sick. He was terrible all night.
10:30pm starts are tough. When I was in Maryland, I had to be up for work at 5:30am. So I'd go to bed at 7:30 and sleep until the game, then get another four hours sleep after the game. Not an easy routine for sure, but I couldn't live without my Kings. Even caught Kings games at the old Cap Centre (God, what a dump). What a weird year. Didn't watch any of it (I mean mainly a 2 year old + 10:30pm start times throws things off a bit). Can't not watch playoffs.
