***LA Kings @ Vegas Golden Knights GDT 1/7/23 >>7:00pm<< on BSW***

Great game everyone. Credit the forwards for not getting caught up ice too deep and cycling back to cover for the D that could be aggressive with the support. Everyone did their job without trying to do someone else’s. Save this tape for future review, clinical.

When was the last time we had a drama free, no stress win against a top team (who is also healthy?)

I dont have any objective observations, them boys had the cats ass for uniforms on and they whooped ass on the ice and the scoreboard. Gonna savor this for an evening.

The Kings are good folks. Savor it. And Blake better be working the phones for that left shot d-man to put us over the top. It’s time.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed the first penalty would be assesed to Walker and/or that the kings would be assesed 3 minors:

The hardest part of that game is packing it away and knowing it doesn't mean a thing to the Edmonton game. Hope this team keeps focus. Pacific division record needs it. That was their fifth straight.

I really hope they show the same intensity and killer instinct against the Oilers. Games like last night show how good this team can be. Consistency is the hallmark of elite teams. Hope that is where the Kings are headed.

Watching a stress free Kings game, with the Kings dominating, a rare treat. If not their best overall game, it was their best passing game. So many times they left their zone with 2/3 on the tape passes. The vegans couldn't keep up. Fiala has added offensive zone passing skill that seems to be influencing other players like Arvi, oh, and he can score too. Copley was solid once again. Now lets repeat this performance against the oils.

I watched the Vegas postgame show and man...all the questions were about the 1-3-1.
To the player's credit they all said we knew it was coming and it's on us to play better.
Gave the Kings full credit. But, it seemed a little douchey from the media side of things to harp on it 1-3-1.

Or, I'm still hung over, haha

Really well played game. However, the best game I saw them play this year was vs the oil. Let's hope they play that way vs that team on Monday.

That was a good one too. We're playing solid in every area. Even the pk is better.

Dumb, isn’t it? That would be like asking a modern day goaltender why he plays a butterfly style rather than the old 80s stand up style. It’s not like this was a left wing lock game that ended in a 1-0 score. The Kings dropped 5 on Vegas, good grief.

I concur, this was probably one of the first kings games I’ve watched in years where I felt totally at ease throughout the entire 60 minutes. Vegas looked totally befuddled and discombobulated throughout the majority of this game, particularly from the late second period onward. Hopefully that’s because the Kings asserted their game plan, and it just overwhelmed the opposition.

real nice win on the road, fk vegas.

thank goodnes Lemieux is OK. good god that was an ugly crash. my heart sank.

I know the Oilers are lower than us in the standings & the Kings sometimes play down to their competition. But I'm not as worried about the Oilers game as a lot of you are. In spite of where they are in the standings, the perception is that they're the "better" team because they have their 2 superstars. So I think the Kings will be up for them. The game I'm more worried about is San Jose. They really are bottom feeders & it's a game the Kings could easily let up on.

This was a great, dominant win for the Kings. And congratulations to Fiala for his 1st Kings hatty. But everyone played well this game. I'm thinking about the post game interview with McLellan where he was asked if this was the best game the Kings played this season. And Todd said that he's asked that question a number of times & that it shows how the Kings are building towards something. It really does seem that way. Since Buffalo we're 8-2-1. And they're not crazy wins like earlier in the season. They're back to playing with structure but they still have the game breakers like Fiala, Arvidsson, Kempe, etc. I'm happier now with this team than I have been alll season.

Go Kings Go!

Since Buffalo - wasn't that when Copley came in? I believe he brings a calm and focus to the game. Quick and Peterson were flopping all over the place, all the time. They needed some consistency and he's provided in spades so far which has calmed the hell out of the team.

Buffalo was his 3rd game. I said this elsewhere but, that game (actually only the 3rd) was the turning point of the season.
Since that period, the Kings have had 2 bad periods. Not even full periods really, just stretches in a period.
The 2nd in Colorado, and it took Makar's brilliance to do it. And the small window against Boston in the 3rd. And
really those two stretches weren't egregious like so many games pre Buffalo.
The team realized they could depend on Copley to be steady as a rock and thus they could get back to playing
their own game. And more importantly, NOT playing everyone else's game and feeling they have to do it by themselves.
And I know it's not the biggest thing but it matters: Copley's play with the puck isn't a hand grenade like Cal or Quickie's.

Is Copley the long term solution? Maybe, maybe not. But, he is the current solution. And as we've seen, the team believes in him.
