It was probably the least amount of Ducks fans I've ever seen at a Kings game. And that might have been the most uneventful first period I've ever seen.Yeah, it was far less than I expected. The first period was an absolute bore. Kongs were super sloppy at times, I immediately had that uh-oh feeling which unfortunately played out. I was a bit surprised to see a fairly low turnout of Sucks fans. Boston, Chicago, Edmonton...heck, most teams, get far more opposing fan support.
Honestly, I'd rather have the games end in a tie than be decided by a skills contest. And not just because the Kings are lacking in that department. It just seems like a cheap way to get a victory. At best they were evenly matched. Thought the Kings were the better team overall but we got goalied a bit, came up with some big saves. And the Kings were playing their 3rd game in 4 days...I know, it's an excuse the also a realistic issue for any hockey team. Bottom line is they Kings had opportunities to convert, didn't, and the end result is what happens often when you let lesser teams hang around.
Still absolutely hate the shootout, games don't need to be decided by a skills contest as far as I'm concerned.
God help the opposition if QB ever figures out how to actually finish.
I'd like to see them either do a 5 minute 4v4 followed by a 5 minute 3v3 or just keep doing 5 minute 3v3s until someone wins. I coached soccer and both of my girls played competitively until end of HS and I've always despised going to PKs in soccer. He needs to finish and needs to better use his size advantage. He's still getting knocked off pucks way too easy. And he really needs to start finishing...too many grade A chances. He had the finish in his junior years, just don't understand how he suddenly forgot it after transitioning to the NHL.
Exactly. That’s why I continue to single him out. He may get more grade A, high danger scoring chances than anyone else on the team. Hell, he might have one of the highest occurrences of high danger scoring chances in the league, but it’s all for naught if they rarely end up in the back of the net.He needs to finish and needs to better use his size advantage. I can go along with that. In fact, I'm all in on just repeating 5 minute 3v3s. I mean, someone has to score eventually, right?I'd like to see them either do a 5 minute 4v4 followed by a 5 minute 3v3 or just keep doing 5 minute 3v3s until someone wins. LOL....I should have said "you can pick any 4 players except Kempe" - at least I was smart enough to not go "off the board" like I usually do, and also selected Kempe.Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed Kempe to score the first/final goal, nobody had the time correct:

A little bit goalies, a little bit tired. Just didn't get the bounces but they get the break. Congratulations to Lewis for being honored and to Drew for his selection to team Canada.
