Regardless of anything, losing to the Ducks will always leave me feeling...

A little bit goalies, a little bit tired. Just didn't get the bounces but they get the break. Congratulations to Lewis for being honored and to Drew for his selection to team Canada.

Yeah, it was far less than I expected. The first period was an absolute bore. Kongs were super sloppy at times, I immediately had that uh-oh feeling which unfortunately played out. I was a bit surprised to see a fairly low turnout of Sucks fans. Boston, Chicago, Edmonton...heck, most teams, get far more opposing fan support.
It was probably the least amount of Ducks fans I've ever seen at a Kings game. And that might have been the most uneventful first period I've ever seen.
The Kings looked sloppy and tired which I guess is understandable after a couple of hard played emotional games. The Stars game especially was pretty much playoff level intensity.
Kind of a letdown, but it happens.

At best they were evenly matched. Thought the Kings were the better team overall but we got goalied a bit, came up with some big saves. And the Kings were playing their 3rd game in 4 days...I know, it's an excuse the also a realistic issue for any hockey team. Bottom line is they Kings had opportunities to convert, didn't, and the end result is what happens often when you let lesser teams hang around.

Still absolutely hate the shootout, games don't need to be decided by a skills contest as far as I'm concerned.
Honestly, I'd rather have the games end in a tie than be decided by a skills contest. And not just because the Kings are lacking in that department. It just seems like a cheap way to get a victory.

I'd like to see them either do a 5 minute 4v4 followed by a 5 minute 3v3 or just keep doing 5 minute 3v3s until someone wins. I coached soccer and both of my girls played competitively until end of HS and I've always despised going to PKs in soccer. It's become my least favorite thing about hockey now.

He had the finish in his junior years, just don't understand how he suddenly forgot it after transitioning to the NHL.
He needs to finish and needs to better use his size advantage. He's still getting knocked off pucks way too easy. And he really needs to start finishing...too many grade A chances.

Exactly. That’s why I continue to single him out. He may get more grade A, high danger scoring chances than anyone else on the team. Hell, he might have one of the highest occurrences of high danger scoring chances in the league, but it’s all for naught if they rarely end up in the back of the net.

Take Trevor Lewis, for instance. He almost never has high danger scoring chances, but it looked like he had at least 3 last night in his silver stick ceremony game. A highlight goal from him would have been awesome but it’s just not something we expect from him, -given his skill package-.

I can go along with that. In fact, I'm all in on just repeating 5 minute 3v3s. I mean, someone has to score eventually, right?
As for the shootouts, I never liked em. It just seems so, impure, for lack of a better term.

LOL....I should have said "you can pick any 4 players except Kempe" - at least I was smart enough to not go "off the board" like I usually do, and also selected Kempe.
