***LA Kings vs. Buffalo Sabres GDT 11/20/24 7:30pm on FanDuel***

Clarke needs to shoot…
Q & Fiala sucked…
Poor energy in the barn tonight….
I was this close to giving a zero points for the poll….missed opportunity….like the Crowns Wednesday night.
lol
I'm surprised they were selling anything but coffee in the arena tonight

Poor energy because the Kings gave us zero to cheer for. Nyssa summed it up perfectly when she said it looked like one of the intermission games with the little kids. The Kings couldn't shoot on net all game long. There were about a dozen instances where a Kings player would have the puck on his stick and whiff on the stickhandle or pass. Like just fumble it for no reason and then get the pass off the next time. There had to be another 6 instances of completely weak clears which didn't clear the zone where Buffalo kept it in because the Kings guy shot the puck at 8 mph. And, of course, all of the falling down. We got an ECHL product last night for NHL prices. And Buffalo SUCKS!!! I just got back from watching Philly completely own them last Saturday night. They are a bad team and the Kings should have owned them. Instead, the Sabres controlled the play. I thought only Kopi's line outplayed Buffalo. The 4th line was brutal. When does Akhil Thomas get a chance to play?

Congratulations to Nyssa for tossing the shutout on the kings! Nobody scored so no points.

Felt bad for Big save Dave because he was the one King that definitely came to play. Buffalo's pressure in the first set the tone for them and the Kings skaters clearly were not handling it well. 2nd and 3rd periods they skated "better" but that's relative. 20 games in and there's still not a clear identity of what works for this team other than Turcotte and Foegele are the motors that make their lines hum. Moore is trying to get there. Fiala is.....Well we all knew what kind of night it was when he stick handled himself to the ground.

I forgot to mention last night that I though Jeannot played really well. One of the few trying to provide a spark to the team. He's just not "that guy" who will carry a team to victory.

And, I really like Moverare! He's fast, fast, fast. Feels like he's really coming into his own now, where in his previous appearances he just seemed to be trying to not make a mistake.

I've been a big fan of Jearnnot since he joined the team - he's the type of player every team needs. Unfortunately I don't see him ever scoring 20+ goals in a NHL season again, but he provides enough other elements of value.

Moverare looks really good - this guy needs to stay with the Kings and be a permanent NHL'er at this point. I've always liked him but something seems to have really clicked this season.

Also, have to say that I thought Turcotte was out best forward on the ice. Hopefully the scoring starts to come, but even as it stands he is grossly underrated.

dull, soulless, boring, uninspired, frustrating hockey. It's becoming increasingly difficult to watch games. Happy to hear that fans were booing at the end of the game. The team, coaches and leadership (Rob, Luc) need to hear it...if they even care.

I think Turc is finally showing he has some significant upside now that he's healthy. Lots of talent there, will see if he can turn it up a notch.

So far, Byfield is the season’s biggest disappointment, followed closely by Fiala. Those 2 guys were the key to this year’s success on offense. Kings are a mediocre team with 1 scoring line right now.
Moore, Danault, Fiala and Byfield have all been equally disappointing this season imo. Moore has been trending up lately (especially during his time on Kopi's line), and I saw improvements in Byfield's overall game against Buffalo but he still has work to do. Danault and Fiala, however, seem to be running flat.

Given their place in the standings, to my eyes it appears they are "fake good" as they really haven't proven they can beat good teams or even beat bad teams consistently.

They've beaten 2 good teams: Vegas and Minnesota. They've also lost to Vegas
They've lost to the only other good teams they've played: Vancouver, Calgary and Colorado
They've lost to bad or perceived lesser teams: Chicago, San Jose, Buffalo, Boston, Ottawa

We will see how this plays out over the next 5 games where on paper, they should probably win 4 of 5 with the biggest test coming next week vs Winnipeg.

December could be rough. 11 games including Dallas, Minnesota, New Jersey, Rangers, Washington and Edmonton.

QB has had so many scoring opportunities and manages to either miss the net or put right at the goalie. I want to think it's going to start popping for him but right now, he doesn't have a scorer's touch.

I agree. His shot selection and accuracy have never impressed me. Speed, size and vision are his best attributes. I would love to see him become a 50 assist guy.

If every forward outside of the 1st is having a down offensive season maybe the problem is bigger than the individual forwards?

I expected Kempe to tie it on that shot before the buzzer.

Ugly game. Kings remain 1 point out of first with lots of room for improvement. Things could be a lot worse.
