Yeah, that was great info. One sad thing about this season will be the last year of Nick doing the broadcast. I've really enjoyed Nick and Fox this season. They've been great at passing along the stats. Also, there was the icing where Kopi tipped the puck near the redline. They said it was a missed call by the refs and then corrected themselves after watching the video. Similarly, there were some of the waived off goals due to offsides during the recent road trip from hell where I thought our crew was very fair in saying the call would probably go against us. I listen to a lot of homer broadcasts on ESPN+. Nick and Jim do a great job of supporting the Kings but being honest too. (side note: I watched Caps-Oilers a couple weeks ago and the Oilers announcers kept saying how Logan Thompson was so lucky to make saves and the Oilers would get a goal soon. Caps won 3-2. The whole time I'm smh because Thompson and Helly are the only 2 goalies in the NHL with a GSAA above 20. The Oilers homers must think the guy has lucked into a 24-2-4 record. Our crew is so refreshingly good compared to some of these clown shows).
I'm inclined to think that the objectiveness of sport broadcasting in the L.A. market was in large part due to the influence of Vin Scully, who from the very beginning was a stalwart of fairness in his reporting.
