Why was Englund expendable when Burroughs should have been the one who was supposed to be waived? Englund looked more serviceable and useful in the Kings roster than Burroughs, if slightly. I know Doughty returning from injury had something to do with that, but still.

So so is being generous. The second unit was marginally better. The problem is obvious, they are back to taking way too long to move it around because they are looking for the perfect play.

They're adamant on doing that because they fear that if they get too aggressive in shooting the puck on the PP, they'll turn over the puck. It's no wonder they keep faltering and rarely score on the PP.

1st period ends. Other than the late pushback by LA, the period was boring and the game remains scoreless for now. Kings were slow to gain their legs offensively until towards the end of the period. Well, the Kings have to wake up because there's still 40 more minutes of hockey to play.
