***LA Kings vs. Ottawa Senators GDT 11/30/24 >>4:00pm<< on KCAL Ch9 (& Spanish radio)***

Thanks! Yeah, I'm very very happy I got to enjoy the game tonight!

Hiking is an inherently dangerous activity. Even experienced hikers can have mishaps. I was hiking the day Julian Sands went missing on Baldy. Sands was a dedicated mountaineer and he fell off a trail and died.

Gravity is a bitch. All it takes is one minor misstep and gravity takes over. It all happens so fast. I got very lucky today. And those kids are heroes, even risking their lives going back for my dogs.

There are still a lot of good people in this world.
I was skiing in Baldy when a couple search helicopters started circling overhead. Turned out later a hiker was missing and I believe that was Julian Sands. Baldy is a dangerous mountain in particular.

Good people are out there for sure, always gratifying to hear stories of them coming through.

A hiking buddy knew Mr. Sands, and hiked with hm on several occasions. He said Julian was in great shape, and could hike all day.
One of the major problems is all the fires. The fires and the subsequent storms destroy the trails. Even the most well-maintained trails become narrow, deep ravines filled with loose rocks. This was the case yesterday.
The was evidently a fence at one point where I fell. All that remained was a rigid steel post...but the kids used that post as an anchor when they formed the human chain and rescued me and my dogs.
It's so sad...all these trails gone, or impassable. Gone are Sister Elsie, Rim of the Valley, Blue Bug (closed by the county), T5, Blanchard Canyon Ridge, Upper Crescenta View...Sister Elsie and Rim of the Valley had been there for 100 years. Upper Crescenta View was just completed three months before the Station Fire. It was the most beautiful trail in SoCal and it lasted nine weeks. 1500 volunteer man-hours to build that trial...it took 18 months...gone in a flash.
The saddest part is the fact most of those fired were the result of arson. Sad.

Nobody got all 4 available points but @Chateau Bow Wow and @sonnyboy11 did get 3 of 4. Glad to see Fiala get first star, hope he can keep that effort up, the kings need it. Only saw the first because UT TAMU game got priority in the house (Hook 'em) and it seemed like the Kings were serious about the back to back. Good good for them to pull away with a PP that actually did something. Hope Lewis isn't as bad as the reports were. I did see him block some shots early but no idea what the prognosis is.

Hi Jammer - I also had the Sens with 22 SOG.

The one slo-mo that I saw showed his left (?) knee bending in an awkward way. I fear that he may be out for a while.

He was seen on crutches so we know it's bad.
He had a MRI that night or had one scheduled for yesterday. None of the information out there seems positive and the team is doing the usual NHL team move of saying nothing at all. What a bummer to be stuck on 999 although it is a great opportunity for players like Thomas, Helenius, Lee, and even someone like Turcotte or Laffy in the PK role.

Are we sure Kopi is going to retire in 20 months? He’s on pace for the best offensive season of his career at age 37. I don’t expect him to keep up the 95 point pace but what if he does? This guy has a lot of hockey left in him.
To play that many games and be so consistent year over year is truly amazing. It's sad to think of what the franchise will look like, one day, without him.

Where's the 3 win Sexy Party thread? :)

Lewis will be out 4-6 weeks per Hiller

They will bring Lewis back, when the Kings are at home for his 1000. Lewis can fit in on any line and his leadership you can't replicate. Please someone step up! Maybe that once thought of scoring machine will rise to the occasion, once he gets the green light to play again.
