***LA Kings vs. Philadelphia Flyers GDT 12/29/24 6:00pm on FanDuel***

The Kings are slowly becoming the Comeback Kids with their 3rd period performances. Yes, there are the occasions where LA comes up short in the 3PD at times, but this warrants some attention.
 
I missed watching the game, only able to keep an eye on the score from time to time. Yesterday after the win I thought who is this team? Going into the 3rd, I thought yes I know this team, this is my Kings, losing again after a big win... I'm so happy Kings proved me wrong and surprised me with back to back wins, this win should not have been so hard against Phili but I'm so happy for the win, thank you for ending 2024 on the positive! GO KINGS GO!!!!
 
I don't think I have ever heard the whole arena count down the ending of a penalty like they did with the Kempe penalty tonight! That 3rd period was wild and fun!

The Flyers sure put up a good fight. A team on the upswing judging by our 2 recent meetings with them. They just need better structure on the D side. They've got some good speed & skill up front.

Awesome grind-it-out win by the Kings. And I was SHOCKED that Kopi actually went for the hattie from behind the net, LOL!!

And my 3 year old granddaughter made it through the game without too much drama, so yay! She was cheering "Go Kings Go" half the way back to the car.

At the game / Frantic last few minutes. Not just the Kings - watching the Atlanta vs Washington football game in overtime (Rams fans will understand) on my phone.

it's never easy - but it was a double win tonight!
 
Well, that was interesting. Philly plays a very wide open, fast paced transition game. It’s a bit nerve wracking, and I’ve never understood fans who love watching their own team play that run and gun, track meet style. It would drive me nuts if I had to watch the Kings play 82 regular season games like that. Nope..
 
Gavrikov has been noticeably bad for a couple weeks now at least. Got caught out tonight,
I think their record is better than they are. Way too nonchalant getting pucks out of the D zone. Little half-ass flicks that get held in at or inside the blue line. A handful of peewee league turnovers right in front. When you have time and space the zone exit rate just has to be 100%.
Have not played a full sixty minute game since NYR. “We can turn it on.” Seen that movie,
Also back to late-2010s mentality where every play has to begin virtually from behind our goal line.
Great to possess and bring it up with a head of steam, but every backward and lateral pass on ice has a nonzero chance of going wrong and I’d rather just get it out more of the time.
 
What the hell?

Nothing like waking up in the morning and realizing you missed yet another Kings game. I had no idea they were playing back-to-backs. These schedule makers are killing me this season. I changed plans to watch the Oilers game Saturday, but there was no way I could watch yesterday's game, even if I knew they were playing.

5-4? Wow, sounds like I missed a great game. Had NFL plans...huge day for the local teams (Rams and Chargers both in the playoffs!)...

...so I popped in here for the poll question for "tonight's" game...d'oh! On the bright side, looking ahead on the schedule, it appears they Kings have a lot of "normal" start times for the rest of the season. Thank God. My internal hockey clock starts at 7:00pm, and it appears the majority of games are in that approximate slot.

What a strange year...
