***LA Kings vs. Utah Hockey Club GDT 2/22/25 >>6:00pm<< on FanDuel***

Congratulations to the following poster who guessed 3 PPG goals on the night, nobody guessed 8 points for the defense:

3 PPG (1 point):

Always weird when I solo this thing, anyway I thought it was good to see the kings win a game when they weren't at their best. The quick response to Utah goals were important and while the pk was taken advantage of the pp came to the rescue. I'm still laughing about Durzi ripping that shot offsides. That lineseman owes everyone on the ice an apology, no idea what happened there.

No doubt the Kings were showing a bit of rust, but that's to be expected considering 2 weeks off. Fiala and Drew were absolute beasts last night. Laffy continues to impress and QB continues to frustrate. Can't quite put a finger on QB's issues, but I'm going to go back to the well and say it appears to be a profound lack of confidence, which may be a product of his difficulty finishing. Whatever, it definitely seems to be more mental than physical.
Happy for Lewie scoring a big goal!
Darcy was a bit soft last night, but as you stated it's nice to see the Kings win a game when they're not playing their best.
All-in-all, a very entertaining game, and Utah put up a good fight

Good way to start this “second half” of the season. Sloppy but good enough in the end. Doughty energized. They should be ready for Vegas.
Drew made the point in his post game interview that he had the benefit of being sharp while everyone else wasn’t because of the 2 week break.

If Blake can add a right shot winger who can score 20+ this team will be dangerous going into the playoffs.

It's hard to finish when instead of shooting the puck you keep forcing passes to players completely covered. The "good" news is that his line is the only one that can generate any offense at all.

That's my point exactly. He appears to have lost confidence in his shooting and is forcing passes. And after that hilarious miss two weeks ago...he shot it well above the net from about 24" out...I think he may have a bit of the yips. That was actually pretty funny. I get that he was trying to elevate the puck, but it almost went straight up.
Anyway, yeah, he needs a shoot first, aggressive mentality when he has the puck. He has the tools and he's gradually developing a complete game, but damn he needs to hit the back of the net, get his confidence back and take his game to the next level. QB still has the potential to become elite, but scoring a few more goals here and there will really help him achieve that status. And if the Kings want to make it past the first round and beyond, QB will need to be a bigger part of the offense.
