***LA Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights GDT 2/24/26 7:30pm on FanDuel***

When it was 2-1 at the end of the 2nd, did anyone think we would win this game? That was an incredible 3rd period. It was great for Moore scoring 2 goals. Although I would give the game's 1st star to the guy who got 4 assists. I don't know if I bought into the fact that having a bunch of home games left would be all wins for us. But so far that's what it's been. If our future home record is anywhere near our past record, we might actually get a 2 or 1 seed for the playoffs.

I didnt have much confidence getting a win. Kings were getting out-hustled and out-muscled until the third. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall of the locker room between the second and third periods, because a different team took the ice in the third.

I wasn’t particularly worried at 2-1. Vegas is a great team. They were going to push back after the Kings went up 1-0 and had a very strong 1st period.

The real shocker was how the Kings swarmed Vegas in the 3rd. They smelled blood in the water and they kept attacking. That’s the sign of a winners mentality.

If they can add one more right shot winger before the deadline this team has a real shot in the playoffs.

Guess everyone wanted in on the fun after the last game, well done all you pollsters. Not sure what else to say but that was a great 3rd by the kings. One of those ones where they dominated, and we didn't need to see 20 shots in a period to prove it. They just kept getting it in the net. Moore had a great game, as did Q, Fiala and Kempe. Hopefully they can all laugh about Danaults blind pass to the middle after that one. Lets hope they keep the home magic going against VAN.

I’m such an enormous Kopitar fan and it’s so painful watching him out there. I’m not ready to put him out to pasture yet especially when you take into account how incredible he looked for the first 30 games but he looks awful now. Two months of having no positive impact on the ice.

Hiller has to cut down his minutes ASAP. The problem is Danault has also been awful this season so we’re stuck with 1 strong Center unless something changes quickly.
I'd start with eliminating him from the PK. He is good on in-zone faceoff draws, but no real reason for him to be out there. Laf, Lewis, Danault and Moore can eat those minutes. If they can limit Kopi to ~17minutes a game that will help him come playoff time.

Danault has been stepping up a bit and I see him getting stronger as the season persists.

Definitely time to open the flood gates on the Fiala/Byfield/Kempe line and let them build as much chemisty as possible between now and playoff time. Byfield also needs to get better when it comes to faceoffs before he can truly excel at center.

Kopi is still the King of faceoffs.

What’s so incredible about that pass is that QB actually intended to thread that needle. That wasn’t some blind backhand area pass. That was 100% intentional. Pure insanity. Also what a finish by Foegele.
When a player of Pietrangelo's talent his having a night like he was, you gotta take advantage of it.

Yup. It was insane

This comes right after I made a post pleading with QB to stop forcing no-look backhand passes through traffic.

Whoops.

Of course, without Foegele's great finish, it's just another pass...another Gretzky-like pass that is.

Four assists for QB last night. If he keeps this up, the Kings might become the team to beat in the West. And the Fiala/Kempe/QB line the most dangerous.

QB is one of the most unique players I’ve ever seen. He has the size and vision of Joe Thornton. The first step quickness of Federov. And the effort/IQ away from the puck of Kopitar. The problem is he rarely has all elements clicking on the same night but when they do click he has a game like the one vs. Vegas.

I still think he’ll have a 100 point season at some point in his career.

Not long ago, I posted that the Kings didn't need another scorer, they needed someone who could rack up the assists. Who knew that he was hear all along! Hopefully we continue to see this from him.

Highly doubtful he hits 100 based upon his progressions to date. As a Kings fan, I hope like heck it happens but after last night's explosion, we're looking at 11-22-33 in 55 games from QB. The flashes have been there but never consistently.

I know the same could be said for any team but just think if the Kings had beat the bottom feeders like San Jose, Anaheim and Chicago. They left 6 points on the table against those teams, would be in first place...but lots of IF's in life.

It's possible he could get there, but he'd need an All-Star quality sniper, a defenseman like Makar and a lot of PP time.

Given his history and still young age, the lack of consistency hardly isn’t that surprising. But if/when (?!?) he takes that next step, I will enjoy the ride…

Probably right but I think QB didn’t find his game until about Feb. 1. Clearly less than ideal but something flipped inside of him. Since the month started he has 10 points in 6 games. 0 goals in those games but still the production is exactly what we need. And you can visually see that he’s having more impact on a shift by shift basis.

I know everyone is tired of hearing about his age but it can’t be stated loudly enough that he’s only 22 years old. If he “only” becomes a PPG 1st line Center I won’t be losing any sleep because his game away from the puck is already excellent and will only get better with experience.

Vegas? Bottom feeder? Do you mean Buffalo or some other team instead?

1) Certainly you don’t mean Vegas…

2) ‘good’ teams lose to ‘bad’ teams ALL THE TIME.
