If they lose it’s going to sting, and I had written this game off even before knowing Phil was hurt.

Even if they lose, the way they’ve played this game so evenly with so much going against them speaks loudly for where this team is at. Culture recalibration is in effect.
 
Overall, a great trip but something has to be done about the power-play. It’s horrendous standing around like a bunch of traffic cones passing the puck back-and-forth to each other is not gonna get it done and is the single weakness of this team right now.

Honestly, the team is pretty lucky to come out of this trip with 8 points. They looked directionless and run of the mill to me. Way too nonchalant getting the puck out of the zone, way too many failed clears, too many risky plays.
 
I think the Kings did better than I'd thought. Especially at the end of the trip. They got a point out of Nashville but lost in Washington....I thought they'd lose both of those. Not a bad trip at all.

Also, anyone listen to the game on the radio? Who the hell was calling the game there? I thought the Kings did simulcasts or did that change again?

If you would have told me at the start of the season, by the Christmas break, the Kings would be in 3rd place in the Pacific, I would have laughed my ass off. Call me a hyena because it's true.

Ok that was a hell of a 2 gamer and I wish they got more than 1 of 4 to get the road trip total to 8 of 14 points. Really tough B2B to close out the year though meaning the boys are potentially looking at 4th in the pacific and 8 points in their last 18 available. All these points are crucial and this stretch proves it. Happy Holidays to everyone that celebrates, and hopefully a time of peace to you all. If I missed anyone let me know, holidays and inlaws going on here, its been hectic.

Expected this loss along with NJ. Would have been a much better road trip if they had won the 2 OT games. Big test coming up over the next 9 games. All pretty solid teams excluding Philly.
