GDT ***LA Kings @ Winnipeg Jets GDT 1/10/25 5:00pm on FanDuel***

Well that was a low SOG affair. What a game! I just recently got done watching the recorded game. I normally stay off social media until I watch the game unless I’m way too anxious to know the score. Great TEAM effort! We are seeing a special team developing, getting chemistry, and working the coaches system. Who would have thought at the beginning of the season, this is the Kings team we are seeing now? They are finding ways to win and buying into the system! Keep the streak going Kings! Go Kings Go!!

Some gambles work out, some don't. PLD didn't, Kuemper did. If he keeps up this kind of play for the remainder of his contract and gives the Kings good runs in POs for these 3 seasons, Gabe+a 2nd wasn't too much to give up TBH...

Though Gabe type od a player really would be sorely needed to fix the Kings' PP...

It’s possible we’ll always miss Gabe, but I come down to the fact that it’s less about not having him vs. the waste of an A-grade asset. But, what goalie who was available to the Kings was going to give us right now what Kuemper is while we wait for Portillo? Would Grier or Conroy have traded their goalies inter-division, and at what cost if so? So all told, have to be happy enough with this outcome given how this debacle started.

I also think about what Gabe would make on his next contract here. It’s over 6 easily, maybe over 7. Glad for him halfway through that he’s finally having a healthy season, but I for one would be gritting my teeth a bit about an expensive contract given his injury history. And yet given the points there’d be no choice.

End of day Blake’s not stupid. Gabe putting up big points as he is isn’t a surprise to anyone. He knew what he was giving up, which tells me had good reason for it and by the sounds of it Gabe was a goner regardless.

A closer look . . . they started the season winning 15 of 16 . . . which means they've been a .500 team ever since. I'm not saying they're not good, cuz they certainly are. But there are cracks in their game, not to mention that so much of their success relies on Hellebuyck.

It would help if they stapled that dumb-****, Fiala, to the bench during man-advantages. He is very gifted physically . . . not so much mentally.
 
I had to wait until after work to watch the game. First off, I'm very sorry about Patrick O'Neal losing his house. I can't imagine how many things he lost & all the memories attached to them. But I'm glad he's OK. As far as the game, it was a good one with 2 great teams battling each other. That was a great goal by Kempe in OT. Is this the 2nd OT in a row that we won? That was also a great tip by Turcotte for his goal. That was even a great shot by Spence for what would've been his goal. Does anyone else think the whole calling goals back for offsides is stupid? First they use the human eyes of the linesmen to determine offsides. Then if a goal is scored they use cameras & go frame by frame to see if they're offsides. So they use 2 different standards. And you're left with disappointed fans. Why not just use cameras to determine offsides at entry. Either that or have the linesmen do better at seeing offsides. Which they can't because they're only human. Anyway that's been bugging me.

In this day and age, offsides would be easily referee'd by cameras, thus ending the play immediately and leaving no sour taste if the goal is eventually scored.
