Last Movie Watched

Winters-Bone-Poster-220x150.jpg

Just watched last night. Great movie. Highly recommended.

We just finished this 20 minutes ago. What an EXCELLENT film from top to bottom. Superbly acted, believable characters, and the pacing is slow but taught and deliberate and sucks you into it's world. The opposite of a Hollywood Blockbuster in so many ways, but very rewarding. I guess in that way too?

saw this for the first time. kinda got a bit cheesy at the end but I was still entertained. Space madness is awesome! Sam Neill is a pretty good actor but i find him amusing. i don't know why.

i know i saw this once at least a LONG time ago and watched it again yesterday. i still think it's awesome. it also got a lil cheesy at the end but it's funny in a way, well at least to me it is. plus i'm doing major research on zombies and voodoo just for the hell of it.

I remember when Event Horizon came out and everybody pretty much seemed to dislike it, but over the years, it seems to have gotten a bit of a cult following and people seem to like it more, well, at least, some of it. I then decided to buy it during a Circuit City going out of sell for like four bucks, lol, and actually enjoyed it. It's the type of film that one shouldn't take too serious and just have fun with it.

Rainbow and the Serpent is pretty good. That black actress, I can't remember her name, is pretty hot! :D

"If I Had A Million" -1932

Very enjoyable ensemble flick featuring 7 different vignettes all centered around a dying millionaire and his compulsion to give his fortune away to 7 different strangers.

The movie plays out like a 90 minute long Twlight Zone episode. 4 out of the 7 chapters are forgettable but there's enough quality storytelling in the other 3 to give this classic flick my seal of approval.

finally caught this on TV, so i'm sure there was plenty edited out. Overall, I liked it. it was touching and pretty funny. not the best comedy film but i'm sure it wasn't trying to be.

also, about a week ago I caught A Streetcar Named Desire on TCM and missed the first half but really enjoyed what I got to watch. hope to see the full movie sometime soon.

I liked the Rob Schneider and Steve Buscemi cameos...'I can wipe my own ass'...still, LITTLE NICKY is the best friggin Adam Sandler movie ever.

After nearly 6 weeks of no movies and netflix on hold, it's great to be in front of the TV again. The first two or three movies back have been excellent--this being no exception:

Freaking LOVE Joon-ho Bong. Thought Mother (Madeo) was outstanding, and enjoyed this even more. A bit grizzly in places but tempered by well-timed humor. HIGHLY recommended.

Gets my vote for best Korean film ever!

um...well, i finally got my Netflix back up and running and decided to watch this. I'm not totally a fan of it after one viewing. It had some good moments, but some things that bothered me.
1; those dumb things in the beginning that walked all slow. They couldn't think of better?
2; the look of the future is just plain out cheesy and tacky.
3; Chris Tucker's character was annoying. He almost made me stop watching.

some good things
1; Gary Oldman. He is just THAT good. He can turn even a ****ty movie into a good movie just cuz he's in it.
2; Milla is hot!
3; sappy love ending, which i kinda enjoyed. and the story wasn't a total POS.

/record scratch/ whoa... what? Best EVER?? Not saying it's undeserving, but from you that's pretty high praise indeed.

What would be the second and third of your top Korean three? Or make it top five if you have an extra minute.

It's tough. Memories Of Murder isn't necessarily my favorite, but I just think it's so well done...

With the caveat that I haven't seen any earlier Korean films and there are still a lot of great ones I'm sure I still haven't seen, if I had to do a top 5...

1. Memories Of Murder
2. Oldboy
3. Time (by Kim Ki-Duk)
4. Lady Vengeance
5. Failan

Honorable mention to JSA, My Sassy Girl, Sympathy For Mr Vengeance and A Tale Of Two Sisters.

That's off the top of my head.

You'll dig that ****, Orph.
