Last Movie Watched

So, do you guys watch anything besides horror? ;)

Yes...I am currently watching LoveExposure which is a 4 hr Japanese flick about a strict Christian child who has to sin to please his father(a priest) so he becomes an upskirt-panty-photographer and then things get weird. So yeah...I guess the answer is no.

Pretty sure DieHard said he saw this, but I don't remember what he thought about it. I thought it was ok. I kind of dug the angle they went at it from and it had some decent creepy bits, but it wasn't really anything special.

Yea I saw it. Agree with you that it was nothing special. Started off okay but kind of fizzled out at the end.

Exorcist III was entertaining enough. Hadn't seen any of the sequels before. George C. Scott is always fun to watch.

Decent thriller, I love Jennifer Jason Leigh so it was worth watching for her alone.

Exorcist 3 is FULLY underated. There is one scene in the hospital(Kingsqueen, you KNOW of what I speak) that still creeps the beejeebers outta me.

I have gone on forever about it, and have probably even told you about it Diehard...but have you seen the Changeling? Also w/Scott and just about the best example of a tidy little ghost story in my humble opinion.

I remember seeing this when it came out, because I wanted to see how Patrick Ewing would do; but I ended up enjoying the movie.

Meh, some laughs but pretty forgettable overall. Another movie with a number of really funny actors that doesn't add up to the sum of it's parts.

I'm pretty sure I know which scene you're talking about. Was definitely creepy.

I haven't seen Changeling yet, I'll check it out when I can.

Psycho II was pretty fun. Don't think I'll ever watch it again but worth watching if you like Norman Bates.

Chicken fried southern gothic. Just fun stuff. Gershon, Emille Hirsch, McConaughey and hell, Thomas Haden-Church who just steals the whole show as maybe the dumbest human ever...

I could tell you about this, but you are better off going in blind. Just think Blood Simple in a Trailer Park. Earns the nc-17...sort of, with a lot of full frontal and some nice sharp brutal ass whuppins.

Watched it tonight/this morning. Thought it was okay, a bit slow but got interesting in the second half. Not my favorite ghost story but was a good watch, thanks for the rec.

This movie had so much potential but you can tell that director Federico Zampaglione hasn't had much experience making movies. It was just so shoddily done and not really well put together. The ending was also pretty lame. Ah well, I thought it was okay but like I said could have been a lot better.

Creep was decent enough, but the plot had so many holes, which was pretty annoying. Not a bad movie, nothing special either.

Agree on Shadow. A cool looking monster and an interesting idea do not a movie make. Never saw Creep, but up till now had heard decent things.

Buddy comedy with a pretty throwaway plot that was still frickin hilarious.

I liked Absentia. The movie follows two sisters struggling to cope with the disappearance of their father. Strange events begin to occur and they seem to be linked to a mysterious tunnel. That's about all I'll say. Definitely worth watching.

Next up for me is Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. I was curious about Ben Whishaw after seeing him in the Skyfall photography we're working with here at my company. It was totally a "new Q? What? Must know more!" moment. Then I think I saw Adgy say something very favorable about him, so I decided to check out more of his work and this one seemed to be THE one to check out. Really looking forward to it.

I got throught the first 30 of that movie before falling asleep from (unrelated) exhaustion, but I really liked what I saw.

I shall report back! I'm here to bring the non-horror balance to this thread! ;)

You guys make me wish I was more of a horror fan, tho. That's for sure.

Hey...bring it Jo. We need more people chiming in. And you should watch horror flicks...they are part of a balanced breakfast. Perfume is a bit of a worker...Adgy you didn't necessarily fall asleep from unrelated issues. It's slow and a little longish, but it is a beautiful movie and surprise surprise Jo...it's a bit of a horror movie too. Besides the fact that you can never have too much Alan Rickman.

Perfume is a fantastic movie. It's really original too, was unlike anything I've ever seen. And the ending left me with a feeling I've never had and stuck with me long after the end credits. Can't say enough good things about that movie.

Also, I'll take the brunt of the responsibility for turning this thread into a horror fest since I've been obsessed with scary movies since the beginning of the year. Before that I wasn't a fan, had only seen a handful of horror films. Now I watch anything I can get my hands on.

I'm not the only one though, jd (and adgy to a lesser extent) has given me loads of recommendations so it seems like I never run out of horror movies to watch.
