Last Movie Watched

I just saw Unforgiven again. I get sucked into it every time it's on. If there's a better Western out there, I haven't seen it.

One of my all time favs is Tombstone. Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holiday is excellent. The Quick and the Dead isn't too bad either.

Tombstone: Kilmer was excellent, and I liked it, but Unforgiven has so many more levels to it.

TQatD: Gene Hackman makes a great Western bad guy, but I liked his character in Unforgiven more (Little Bill).

I went and saw Eragon, what a waste.Tried to hard to be like Lord of the Rings

If they tried any harder, it'd be called Aragorn instead. ;)

Did anyone else think that they just took the word "dragon" and went up the alphabet one letter? I mean, it was originally written by a 15 year old kid...

Holy ****, this movie was good. Anyone else seen this? Because I'd love to discuss the ending with someone other than the dip****s on IMDB...

"Prairie Home Companion" turned out to be a big hit with all of us.
Altman (RIP) didn't let the movie get away from him this time.
Good to see Streep rocking a new accent. Lily Tomlin was good to see here.
Harrelson and Reilly are funny. All in all, one of the best from this year's Christmas movie marathon.
We just finished "The Wicker Man" and are now cueing up its alternative ending.
Creepy movie as is...

I finally saw Little Miss Sunshine. What a great movie!!! I haven't laughed that hard while watching a movie in a while.

Woke up on Christmas and threw A Fistful of Dollars in the dvd player. LOVE those "Spaghetti Westerns!"

Saw Children of Men on Xmas night. When I saw the trailer for it a couple months ago I thought it looked retarded, but the reviews were good so I decided to check it out.

Great movie, with some really great long single-take shots during the action sequences. Clive Owen is really good in it and while it is a really dark and grim looking picture, it is actually fairly uplifting in some ways. I highly recommend it.

This further supports my running theory that Asians make everything better.

Annapolis was pretty good. It's that movie about that guy who does that thing at that place and falls in love with that girl that's hot. Yeah, that's the one.

Thought it was pretty good. Didn't like the ending, though. So simple.

The last three nights I've worked my way through the first three Lone Wolf & Cub movies. Been a long time since I watched them.

When it comes to blood sprinkler, samurai movies... these are kind of hard to beat.

Adgy should be proud that I finally watched "Infernal Affairs". :nanana: Except for the fact that I thought the ending was eh, and the alternate ending was bleh.

I also recently watched "The Good Shepherd" and this movie makes "Meet Joe Black" somewhat bearable. I mean, seriously, can it take any longer to explain the background and to solve the "mystery"? I'm sure it didn't help that I watched it at 10:30pm after a 30-minute worth of previews, and if I take time to analyze it and think it through, the movie would be rather decent. But come on! It was LONG!

I'm sure you've seen "Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa right? 1954? I saw it for the first time about 4 months ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh yes... the new 3 disc Criterion edition of it? Possibly my favorite DVD release of anything, ever.

Watched the 4th Lone Wolf & Cub movie last night. Still kicks ass.

I've been on a Solondz kick all week.

Welcome to the Dollhouse
Storytelling
Palindromes

all within the past 4 days.

LOVE Welcome to the Dollhouse. I interviewed Solondz for that movie... definitely an odd bird...

Anyway - I just saw Happy Feet with my little cousin. I'd been SO excited to see it because it looked so cute. But I was kinda disappointed. It could have been so much better. :( BUt the 4 year old liked it, so that's what counts.

Saw Children of Men last night. Probably one of the best films of the year. I really enjoyed the story, the look and design was good, and Clive Owen actually does a good job of acting. I'm not usually a fan of his, but he was really good. Some really good ideas are expressed in the story and totally relevant to where we are today and where we are going as a people. Highly recommend seeing it.

i saw this on saturday night with adgy (surprised? who else has chow yun fat man love more than him?) between all that blatant boobage and adgy whispering "PIMP!" throughout the moive in response to everything chow yun fat did on the screen, i liked it. the continuity was kinda hinky in certain places but i liked the plot nonetheless.
