Last Movie Watched

i'm having a hard time dealing with that cast. i probably should get over it. but by the time i do, it'll be on cable... like everything else i finally get to see these days.

Why? Just curious, because I don't really like Claire Danes, but I really enjoyed the movie a lot and no one in the cast bugged me. And that's from someone who can always find something/someone annoying!

Great movie, better than Shaun of the Dead in my opinion. Gotta love british humor

I woke up with the last scene of "Dirty Dancing" on.
I've never seen it before.

Watching Patrick Swayze and his totally gay dancing made me happy.
It made me happy that I never wasted a second on this movie before.

truly one of the most fun "buddy cop"flicks ever...Gregory Hines,R.I.P.

That is some AWFUL cover art!

Even though it's not the best art in the world, they still could've used the original one-sheet art.

Brilliant.

Russian Mafia and choice gore for the cannibals among us.
Orphan baby and family dynamics for the afghan clutchers.
Secrets and subtext for the brainiacs.

Saw 3:10 to Yuma over the weekend.

Not a big fan of Russell Crowe, but it was a really good flick.

E.T. live at the drive-in. They have these cool speakers that hang on your drivers window..

Not bad at all. Actually we rather liked it. Kind of a sleeper, but the low-key humor was well done, and though slow-paced and sprinkled with just a little action the hour-and-a-half still went by easily. Ben Kingsley is just the ****ing MAN. Don't worry about Luke Wilson's name in the credits. His is just a supporting and fairly unimportant role. This one's ALLLL about Ben.

Caught Babel and The Departed on our movie channel this weekend. Loved The Departed, but Babel was not so good.

Oh, and saw Transformers IMAX - yes it looks and sounds better on IMAX but it's still in the normal 2.35 ratio. The added 2 minutes of scenes was worthless. Save your 15 bucks.

I decided to watch Wings of Desire again since it was mentioned here and I have to say, I liked it much better this time around.

I first saw this film years ago and I thought it was too artsy and pretentious. Now it seems poetic and gorgeous. The cinematography is breathtaking It's weird how a few yeards can change your perspective. I guess am not as "dead inside" as I used to be.

Oh, and it put Nick Cave back on my radar - love his music!

Lovely post. It gets better every time, too.

For those who don't already know this one, a film crew set up two cameras--one on either side of the bay--and spent all 365 days of 2004 filming people walking around on the bridge, catching 23 of the 24 jumpers that year. They then (with the coroners help) contacted friends or family of the deceased for interviews to paint a picture of who these people were in life. Dark yes, but those with a touch of death obsession and/or a morbid imagination will find it fascinating. Actually, more than fascinating. Stunning and INCREDIBLE. We all love the G.G. bridge, but who knew that there's been over 1300 suicides--and that it's by far the most popular site in the world to do so. Seriously or not, suicide may cross our minds in one form or another at some point in life, but it's pretty creepy to actually watch these doomed people in their last living moments walking along the bridge... and thinking of what? Some are blank, some are crying and some laughing....just before they resolutely step over the edge and fall into the beyond. Wow. My hair stands up just thinking about it. The stories are touching, and it's a really well done film. Guaranteed you won't soon forget this.
