I really enjoyed this movie. It was a good story involving the Russian mafia - it makes me want to pick up the book, if there is one. Viggo Mortensen was fantastic...especially in the naked fight. That was aces. ;)

Finally saw this. It was really cute.

Toshiro Mifune's fourth and final portrayal of the Yojimbo character. Also stars Shintaro Katsu (the original Zatoichi).

I wasn't too impressed with the first half of the film, but it picks up a lot towards the end. Great movie.

so funny...I have been trying to load a pic of this for days...This is without a doubt, one of the most delghtfully stoopid movies I have seen in years. Up until I saw this I was not aware of all the things you could do during a heated gun-battle...deliver a baby, bring a woman to orgasm...whatever...this movie made me want to go out and get some guns. And Paul Giammati has so much fun chewing scenery during this flick. I should not have liked this movie...but damn my ability to be easily entertained.

I agree on all accounts, and let me add to this that the movie felt like a comic book type, perhaps of a cheesy kind.

however, according to the director, Shoot 'em Up wasn't meant to seem like such.

The movie was ok...not as good as I had hoped or as I have heard. Quite frankly the main character killed it for me. The chick was so goddamn cliche. She is that non-feminine, foul mouth chick who is so incredibly smart and wise beyond her years that she espouses sarcasm left and right. Yeah, like I haven't seen that before. Also, it's like they stole Gilmour Girl scripts for nearly every scene she was in. The sharp witicisms rolled off her tongue much too easily for your average 16 year old.

I give the movie 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

How do you know what Gilmore Girl scripts are like, Orange Puck??

I used to be married and my ex-wife loved that show. I boycotted it because of the way every damn character spoke at a mile a minute rate and I also know this because it was parodied in Family Guy.

Hopefully my answer doesn't do too much damage to the 'gay insinuation' crack you just tried to take at me.

I liked Viggo and his character, was kinda meh on the rest of the movie.

Damn good. Bale and Crowe were excellent.

Good job by Lumet revealing details of the events by jumping around with the timeline. Hoffman was excellent.

It was more of a feminine crack than a gay one.

Didn't like the ending?

***Spoiler*** ***Spoiler***
The entire last 30-45 minutes was just completely unbelievable. Why the hell would Ben Wade run along to the train? I understand the whole, changing his ways and doing the right thing, but come on. I don't know, for me, it just wasn't believable.

Don't get me wrong, the movie was good, just not worth the $30.

Well, he did say that <spoiler text>
He escaped from Yuma twice before. I think Ben and Dan just connected when they got to Contention. Ben wanted to "redeem" himself for being a considered a ruthless individual, but it just came full circle at the end.</spoiler text>

Anyway, that was a point on contention for many people seeing this movie. I actually liked the ending. :)

The ending was a bit too much to take. Overall it was a decent movie. At the end of the day it is just another western flick that pales in comparison to Tombstone and Unforgiven.

Aside from "You ain't heard nothin' yet!" and what that line would come to symbolize and mean with the coming of talking in movies, an unremarkable movie.
