A pretty fine movie. One of Malick's best.

It won the Palm d'Or because it was ****ing brilliant. Great script, great direction, overall a great movie. ****ing loved it.

Exactly. 4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days was the best movie I've seen in a long time that I never need to see again. It was just too real & well put together for the subject matter. Plus I'm a sucker films that keep the cuts & coverage shots to a minimum

Anyways, I've got 2 good ones I saw this week.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piz3JF2VrI4]Carandiru[/ame] Carandiru - About a giant prison in Sao Paulo that experianced a bloody riot in the early 90's. The film introduces characters as they go to see the doctor in the prison & then they tell the doctor their story & it flashes back to the events of how they landed in prison. The flashback stories are pretty "City of God" like

Gadjo Dilo (Trailer not safe for work, but it's on Youtube if you search it. I just didn't want to post it) Paris resident Stephane is obsessed with finding this gypsy singer he has a tape of, so he travels to Romania & meets up with this gypsy man who's on a drinking binge because his son was just locked up. The man puts him up & shows him off, fish out of water with a love story twist ensues.

What a complete and total piece of ****. I have yet to see a Kenneth Branagh film that I liked.

I wanted to see the original, which almost certainly will be better, but now, not so much.

And by the way, LAME ENDING!!!!

Donnie Darko

Simply put and incredible movie. I never saw this moving when it first came out and quite honestly never heard much about it. I did know that it was a cult favorite so I finally sat down and watched it. Through and through the movie was entertaining and thought provoking. I'm still going over the plot in my mind trying to figure out exactly what the movie was about and trying to come up with explanations for certain things that happened. I'm just sad that I didn't get around to watching this gem until now.

The Mist

Ok, I'm not a big Stephen King fan but I really enjoyed this one. The ending was incredibly harsh especially if you're a dad of a young child. We're talking seriously ****ed up here.

I understood the whole concept of it.

But towards the end, I just really wanted it to be over.

Flash Point comes out via Dragon Dynasty in a couple weeks.

Probably be worth buying for the Bey Logan commentary alone.

Very enjoyable film, too.

Ok...this may take awhile. I can honestly say that this is the GREATEST movie I have ever seen.

I can also say that this is the WORST movie I have ever seen.
It is that huge,epic,awesome...choose your adjective. Yes it is one of the most indulgent incomprehensible messes ever commited to film...yet the fact that it exists makes it a testament to 'it's so crazy it might work captain...'. As you watch this, I defy you to not be fascinated. So wonderfully absurd. And all the actors either did not read the script and were locked in or they just said 'f'it! let's do this thing'. I mean how crazy/obscure can you get w/ cameos from Zelda Rubenstein,Curtis 'Booger' Armstrong, and freakin Christopher 'Highlander' Lambert. I really need to lock in some good weed and re-watch this. I know, years from now, someone is going to write a tell-all book on this...and that should be awesome. Best comparison I can give y'all...Magnolia+Wild At Heart+Flash Gordon(the Queen ridden beautiful mess) directed by David Lynch(light) hopped up on ecstasy and Capn'Crunch

I cannot recommend this highly enough. But you have to have an open mind...or be REALLLLLLYYYYYYYY drunk.congrats:
