Donnie Darko

Simply put and incredible movie. I never saw this moving when it first came out and quite honestly never heard much about it. I did know that it was a cult favorite so I finally sat down and watched it. Through and through the movie was entertaining and thought provoking. I'm still going over the plot in my mind trying to figure out exactly what the movie was about and trying to come up with explanations for certain things that happened. I'm just sad that I didn't get around to watching this gem until now.

did you watch the actual directors cut???? I have seen the original and I have the director's cut but haven't seen it. Frank the Bunny rocks. See my review of Kelly's follow up for ****s and giggles

****ing awesome special effects.

Not for 1983.

Awesome, period. No joke.

Flash Point comes out via Dragon Dynasty in a couple weeks.

Probably be worth buying for the Bey Logan commentary alone.

Very enjoyable film, too.

Oh screw the commentary. Hello? Donnie Yen, half naked, oily, acid wash jeans, bending over and sticking his butt out? Bey Logan commentary PALES buddy, PALES in comparison.

The Bank Job - Awesome all around film with some nice titty shots...

In Bruges - Dark comedy that works very well thanks to a wonderful and simple piano score.

Hey, you have your turn ons, and I got mine. Bey Logan commentaries are one of mine.

Concur. This was a very pleasant surprise.

The Warlords

Outstanding movie. I couldn't recommend this more. Very good story and the battle scenes kick major ass. However, beware the subtitles.

Finally saw No Country.

It was a VERY good movie and I enjoyed it and liked the characters very much. But I can't help feeling that it could have been so much better. In spite of the slow pacing the time passed quickly, so 30 or 40 more minutes to expand on the characters and story would have been more than fine with me. Hoping that the Coens feel the same... and maybe an extended version coming somewhere down the road?

Godzilla:Total War

Interesting and funny second unit (B-roll) stuff on the DVD, probably something only Godzilla fans would appreciate.

Couple surprises and LOTS of monsters in the movie, a definite rental for Godzilla buffs!

I thought getting jewelry from Lubo was your only turn-on?

Cellar Dweller was on Chiller today. What a glorious piece of ****!

Watched an import copy of this last night:

Pretty creepy, although nowhere near as good as some of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's other work. I'd recommend you watch Pulse or Cure first to see if Kurosawa's movies are your thing. Or maybe some of his non-horror like Dopp?lganger and Bright Future. One of the best filmmakers in Japan right now.

Very sad, yet still had some uplifting portions to it. Also, great cinematography depicting the Southern Italian landscape.

Been on a tear lately...gotta do something to wash the stink of the last few Devils games outta my head...

decent flick till the twist...and then you have to listen to the tacked on interviews w/p.h.d.s during the credits to try to make some sense out of the confusion. Please Guy Ritchie...I am begging you...divorce Madonna, she's ruining you!

Once again...decent flick, wish I hadn't read so much about it beforehand. Too much hype. Oh yeah...and it's a French flick so...that's annoying.

above average...really good characters(you almost care). And not your typical types either. On the downside, they make up for the low-budge fx by doing a lot of shaky-cam shots...but it worked for me. Nothing groundbreaking, but good for what it is.

I've been looking forward to seeing this. All I've read is that it's supposedly pretty good, so hopefully I'll enjoy it?

France has been coming up strong in the horror genre lately...

Saw Doomsday tonight:

Awesome in that retarded, gorey, things go explody kinda way. Pretty much the opposite of Neil Marshall's previous film, The Descent which was amazing for totally different reasons. Borrows so much from films before it, you'd think Tarantino directed it.

Good fun, though.

not a real good movie...dumb and clunky, like my old '73 dodge duster...and just as fun. Look, it ain't no prize pig, but if you are stuck on an airplane or hungover in bed...it's a good distraction

I've seen this movie about 20 times now and it hasn't lost its effect. Films don't get better than this. I ****ing love this movie. Kurosawa was a genius.
