Last Movie Watched

Finally you saw it! Is it out on DVD yet? This and Shutter are my two favorite "scary" movies of the year thus far.
 
Now that OrangePuck's stamp of approval is firmly placed, you all don't have an excuse not to watch the movie.

This movie was one of the saddest movies that I have ever seen, but still very watchable. Breathtaking visuals with very lush landscapes and vivid detail.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, as well as one of the saddest. If you haven't seen it or heard about it, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Brilliant movie. Very intriguing and engrossing. I loved the unique direction. It was just brilliant.

As a huge David Lynch fan, I don't know why it took me so long to finally see this movie. I loved it. Definitely had a Lynchian feel to it, although it was a lot more straightforward than most of his other films.

Tee hee. It was impossible to take this movie seriously for so many different reasons.

The only two redeeming factors:

The audio was in DTS.

Olga Kurylenko, who is apparently the newest Bond girl.

Concur. There's a 2 disc DVD release of it that isn't too hard to find, too. I see it at Best Buy fairly regularly. Fantastic war movie.

Meh. This was the only film playing at the theater in Texas that my co-worker and I could agree on. I figured Kevin Spacey & Laurence Fishburne being in it would make it worth a shot.

It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great.
 
I saw 'Into the Wild' last night. One of the best movies i've seen in a while.

I saw this last night too. It was an outstanding movie. Definitely in my top 5 for last year. I thought it was extremely poetic and very moving. I cried at the end - that doesn't happen often. Emile Hirsch was brilliant. Sean Penn definitely has talent as a director.

If you consider yourself a fan of punk and don't know about this band, get educated starting here. While you're at it, pick up their albums; their back catalogue was re-issued with some extras.

A very beautiful and complicated film. There's so much art in this film it can be really overwhelming for those who like to get into all the nuances. Tang Wei was amazing, Rodrigo Prieto did an outstanding job as DP, and Ang Lee is really a master at directing actors.

If you're not into long, complicated, or asian cinema stay away...

I was not a big Paul Thomas Anderson guy. I absolutely hated Magnolia (could not finish it) and didn't like Boogie Nights. However, I did highly enjoy Punch Drunk Love, so maybe that was his turning point for me.

ANYWAY......

WOW! Totally awesome movie, way better than No Country For Old Men, which I felt was EXTREMELY OVERRATED to put it mildly. Maybe this one should have won best picture instead. I do find it amusing though that a Best Picture award seems to go out to any movie nowadays that is just marginal at best. They used to crank stuff out like this in the 70s on a regular basis. I guess it's just more the state of the movie business: Stale.

Daniel Day Lewis was the man, as usual. I really liked how the movie does not let any information slide by; everything comes full circle by the end of the film and does not leave any loose ends. This movie was kind of like a well-known, winding canyon road. You might be able to anticipate all of the twists and turns, but you still need a finely-tuned sport sedan to handle them all properly.

Okay, so I saw the Kite Runner. I loved it. Great story, great cinematography, and great direction. One of the best movies I've seen in awhile. Thanks alot for the recommendation.

I managed to get a copy of Taegukgi, still haven't watched it yet though. Can't wait to see it.

:omg: funny, quirky and yet dark. i LOVED it. the scenes all throughout the small city brought back some good memories. yuri with his "alcoves" obsession was my favorite character. i'm not a big colin farrell fan, but he was pretty good in it. and i always like ralph fiennes... he was almost as fun as yuri was.
