Last Movie Watched

wanted to see this @ ScreamfestLA last year...but it was a weekday...early so i had to skip. It was directed by one 1/2 of the DELICATESSEN/CITY OF LOST CHILDREN/ALIEN:RESURRECTION duo...so i thought...it should be worth seeing...WRONG. Just a mess...with enough Jesus on the cross symbolism to shake a stick at + nanotechnology+everyone has their head shaved...blahblahblah...and it wasn't even visually exciting like you would expect from 1/2 of the Jeunet/Caro team...BONUS POINTS: If someone sees this and can actually fill me in on what happened...I will buy you a beer.

Watched The Reader in conjunction with reading the book as well. I prefer the book, though the movie seemed to stay close to it. Kate Winslet was awesome in this movie. Despite what her character was on trial for, there were other circumstances that made me feel sympathetic towards her.

Just watched the movie and it made me want to buy the book. Haven't purchased it yet, but will stop by Borders today on the way home. Kate Winslet was fantastic.

I'll skip the obvious joke...
When a video game seems like high art compared to the movie it produces...FAIL
'Colorful' characters introduced solely to move the plot along with no definition of who they are...check, painfully stale acting(MarkyMark,I don't blame you, you cannot act without direction)check, wooden dialogue...worthy of, hmmmm, a video game, check! in spades! Chris O'Donnel shows up, didn't even make the box credits (that's what you get ROBIN)...and Beau Bridges...shame on you.
punisher.jpg

Not to be outdone...1st off just what planet was the accent that Dominic West/Doug Hutchison sported from. Well, at least they were trying. Ray Stevenson pretty much sulked the whole flick...just what the Punisher should be...mopey. And, with the wealth of good printed material to crib from, they go with a lame 'I want the woman and child to like me...' story. And it is so poorly directed and half-hearted that the tone wavers every 2 minutes...it's a goddamned comic book movie about a guy who 'punishes'(see...right there in the name dumdums) How hard is it to make a semi enjoyable retarded movie about a guy who shoots people??? See Shoot'Em'Up or the Crank movies...dumb, sure...but entertaining as fried chicken and fart jokes. Whatever happened to this world?:frusty::pfft:

OK...this is more like it. Pretty sure this does not cling to Will Eisner's Spirit...cell phone's and flamboyantly dressed black men were not a regular feature of the '50's if HAPPY DAYS is to be believed...and this flick is so tough guys, classy dames/broads. Everyone seems in on the joke...unlike most superhero flicks this movie shoots to be FUN in an Adam West Batman kinda way...and dammit, it ain't a good movie...but it sure is FUN. I will say it...this movie will be fondly remembered the same way the '80's Flash Gordon/Queen flick is now. I will watch this again...and once you do...SO WILL YOU:target:

Watched Role Models last night. Freaking Hilarious! Didn't get too 'preachy'. Great acting all-around. An easy 9+/10.

Call me a glutton for punishment...but I think seeing Sean Connery wearing hip boots and a giant red diaper for an hour and 45 minutes seems to be a wee bit overboard in bad movie budget wardrobe...

I ****in' LOVE that movie!

I'm trying to watch everything mentioned in the The Official Movie Guide...just to see if they're as corny as what the Head Razz is writing... I still don't think he did justice with the campiness of A*P*E (1976)... With Zardoz...I think he was a bit off...and I'm going to see it again to make sure how far off the mark he was... He was close tough...

If you ever come across the 1973 musical version of Lost Horizon...make sure that you're not eating or drinking anything while watching this one... You will either choke on it from laughing so hard...or it will come out of your nose... There's a reason this one hasn't been released in any format the US since the movie's premiere...

I really hated this movie but I *THINK* I really kinda loved it.

Also, Michael Pitt is a creepy ****er and one of the better actors that nobody talks about.

was gonna hop in on this'un but I figgered nobody else had seen it. Once again Adgy-san...wisdom beyond your years...this is a great flick (ZARDOZ) that is horribly dated when viewed today. Luckily I saw it young and it helped to warp me into the freak I am today. John Boorman simply rules...Deliverance, freaking EXCALIBUR, this...you wanna check out a good double feature of odd flicks from the '70's, Zardoz and Rollerball (the Jimmy frikkin Caan version, not that abortion w/Chris Klein and LL ****ing Cool J)...ah...mem-o-ries:pskulc:

What a shame. Got to see this early on HDNET...and, wow, lotsa genre vets...Hellboy Perlman, Thomas Jane, Sean Pertwee, Devon Aoki...hell, even John Malkovich, giving it their all. And for the first 1/3 of this flick it works sooooo well, great look to the film, almost like an amped up electric b+w...think Sin City on steroids...but then limitations budget wise and story wise kick in. Stuff just happens, seemingly to advance the story. Plus side...this is a director to watch, cause when this movie works...it really works. But overall it is a heartbreaker...what could've been.

Park Chan-wook's I'm a Cyborg But That's Ok. Park Chan-wook is easily becoming one of my favorite directors, but I wasn't really feeling this movie...I'm picky with my romantic comedies. That, and my other boyfriend Song Kang-Ho wasn't in it. :(
