My recommendation after seeing a pre-screening of Land Of the Lost (that I just got back from) is NOT to see it... It was so bad that I was rooting for the Sleestacks and the dinosaurs to kill off the ENTIRE CAST...within 15 minutes... They need to pay more than $50 for wasting a little over an hour and a half of my life like that...
If you WANT Land OF the Lost...go buy a DVD of the original TV productions... They were much better scripted and not insulting to the intelligence like this ripoff of a "movie" was... It would be better off if they just drop this bomb on North Korea...but...even then I'd feel sorry...for NORTH KOREA...

I did not expect this film to end the way it did. Monica Bellucci. Yes I would recommend it if you like French Cinema.

You had me at Monica Bellucci. Vincent Cassel is one lucky bastard, and I totally hate him for no other reason than him being Mr. Monica Bellucci. And as petty and wrong as that may be, I can't help it.

I don't think the Official Razzie Guide came close to describe how funny this film really was...
And I thought that REPOSSESSED was funny... If they would have cast Leslie Nielsen in the Richard Burton role...it would have been the Oscar winner that year...for best comedy...
I think the funniest moments came when Linda Blair turned into a prettier version of Vickie Guerrero...

Just got back from seeing Star Trek. Awesome flick! Been a fan of the TV series (especially Next Gen) and enjoyed this tremendously. Whatever reboot or tweaking of the storyline was fine with me. I think all the actors played their characters well. The moments with Spock and Sarek I thought were quite powerful.
Oh and Uhuru is smokin hot!

Watched a few movies on the PVR this weekend:
- The Number 23. Interesting movie. A bit of a different twist at the end from the usual. Thought Jim Carrey was good. I'd give it an 8/10.
- The Other Boleyn Girl. Watchable, if not a little slow at times. Portman carried this in the second half. Historical accuracy issues? I'd give it a 7/10.

Watched The Orphanage on BR last night. Pretty awesome flick, but I liked Pan's better. There's one completely gory scene, but the rest of it just makes your skin crawl! I still have to update my BR player to see the extras. A solid 9/10 rating on this one from me.

I FINALLY got a chance to see Yoji Yamada's latest film, Kabei Our Mother. And, once again, Yamada did not disappoint. Unlike his previous three films, Kabei is not a samurai movie. It takes place in Japan in the early stages of World War II and follows a mother and her struggles to care for her two daughters while her husband is imprisoned. The atmosphere is breathtakingly beautiful, and features great performances by all the lead actors. Definitely see this if you can!

Watched Passengers yesterday with Anne Hathaway. It was something a bit different from the usual. It was a little slow in parts, but the last 20 mins or so picked-up the pace. I'd give it around a 7/10.
