Last Movie Watched

Whoops. I forgot last time, sorry adgy.

I finally watched The Dark Knight this past weekend. FINALLY. It's really a shame Mr. Ledger had to go mix up his pills. I don't think anyone will be able to properly fill those shoes. I think my only gripe is...what was with the throaty Batman voice? Has it always been like that? My memory of Bale's 1st Batman film is hazy in that regard, did he have it there too? It's annoying. I really liked Maggie Gyllenhaal in this, too. Too bad that happened.

Spent the rest of the weekend watching Band of Brothers. Perfect. I still think it's interesting how SO many of those Brits were SO damn convincing as Americans. And I think Ron Livingston was made for roles like that. Love it, love it, love it.

Batman's voice was highly criticized, but made for some great comedy y satirists.

I saw this years ago and forgot a lot of it. It really is a good movie and I see why so many people talked about it fondly in that Stephen King movie thread.

Oooh! I just got My Blueberry Nights in the mail. Woot. Yo adgy! Good date movie? Or should something else be picked?

Bah, Jude Law better be good in this. He usually annoys me.

It's pretty good for that, I'd say. It's not a really great movie, but it's good and it's pretty incredible visually. Norah Jones isn't that great an actress, but she does alright.

I do like Kat Dennings cuz she's the anti-typical lollipop build starlet type. And Michael Cera cracks me up even if he's doing nothing.

good acting, directed by Jennifer Lynch, daughter of David Lynch. There are a few moments where you would swear daddy was directing over her shoulder. I have a huge complaint (which I will not even hint at cause it would give away too much) but, overall, a pretty solid flick. Oh, and it has a sweet Dodge Duster in it. NICE!!!!

Great stuff!

I had read about this movie in the L.A. Times back in June when it was a limited release and was intrigued by the storyline discussed in the Calendar section article. Back on Draft Day, I asked Mr. Irreverent and CBGB about it and they both recommended it. I waited for it to start playing a little closer to home and went with a buddy of mine to go check it out. I was not disappointed. Great character depth and plenty of tense moments. Go see it.
