Just finished Drag Me to Hell. I thought it was pretty funny. Especially the part where the old gypsy lady keeps on ripping her hair out.

Don't listen to old Doc Naysay...the goat kicked ass!!!!!!!!:10smile:

A little disappointing. Definitely had it's moments and was much prettier to look at than any other Thai action movie I've seen, but otherwise I felt let down. Dance-fighting is still lame.

Jija still kicks all available ass, though, and I love her.

See! Yes! That movie was awesome!

That movie is great for exclamations. I was screaming such phrases like "Oh damn! That gypsy woman just won't quit!," "Oh snap!!! He missed the goat!!" and "What the ****? EWWwwww!!!"

I made so much racket my mom had to ask what I was I watching and why I was making so much noise.

I'm glad I didn't watch it in the theater, I would have annoyed everyone. :D

Are they going to make another one?

So, it obviously played okay for you. :)

Well, the feature worked fine, but I couldn't get some of the special features to work, even though they were all on the same disc. Like, there were 10 trailers and only 5 of them would play. The other 5 you would click on them and it would act like it was going to play them, but then it just came back to the menu screen.

Haven't tried a different player yet. Maybe it's an error on the disc? What do you think?

The extras were SD PAL not HD.

Had been meaning to watch this FOREVER and finally did so last night.

Wow. Creepier than any movie this old has a right to be. Loved it.

Going to see this tonight at the Royal theater in West L.A.

:good:

Kate Bush wrote a song about this movie dealing with the kiss between the governess and Miles called "The Infant Kiss." :D

I wish there was a better edition of this (think: some solid special features). *sigh*

I am into all things "The Turn of the Screw." :D

Looking at IMDB after watching the movie, I noticed there have been a whole bunch of film adaptations of the book. Have you seen any of them, and are any worth watching? And have you seen that "prequel" with Marlon Brando?

There are so many, but I have only seen a few. I saw the really old one with Ingrid Bergman and some BBC version, both of which were okay. And I saw In a Dark Place which is good for a laugh. Lol!

I haven't seen the prequel. I sort of want to out of curiosity, but I really wouldn't see it as part of the same world. The good thing about the story is that we really don't know what really happened before the governess arrived and that what helps make it creepy and ambiguous.

The Innocents is widely considered by far to be the best adaptation. I was surprised at how good it was because the story isn't really easy to film due to its ambiguity, but the film captures that wonderfully and has atmosphere in spades. The others that I have seen can't hold a candle to it.
