Last Movie Watched

****ing AWESOME. Imagine 2001: A Space Odyssey, but about Vikings and you start to get an idea. LOVED it.

Looks like something I'd like. Seems it was limited here and has already come and gone, so the wait for DVD begins. Saved in queue.

Not bad at all.

Compelling enough to not be constantly distracted by the hilarity of B Willie's porn 'stache? Dunno if I have the mental fortitude to ignore it.

Not a bad movie. Watched it late at night and never began to nod off, so that's a plus! It's no Hurt Locker, but I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Just watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

On a side note, Monica Bellucci is gorgeous.

Last night. Hmmmm. Still unsure exactly where I stand with this. No knowledge of the book, so starting fresh.

Hated it in the first 10 minutes, and wanted to snap the kid's neck. Wished I was the lucky teen who crushed his ice fort and made him cry. He got to the island and the creatures showed up, and hated them too. Considered ejecting.

Don't know where I turned the corner, but stuck it out, redoubled efforts to buy in, started liking the creatures a little - then more - and in the end decided it was OK. Kinda. No, I mean... odd, but had it's moments. Oh yeah, watching the second half in slightly fast-forward helped. A LOT. Woulda been sweet though if in the end they did eat him after all. :butcher:

Pretty funny/interesting. Not worth buying, but worth seeing. Even if just for the Bill Hicks vs the audience bit.

I decided to "pass" on this movie when Adgy wanted to watch it. I hadn't read the book when I was a kid but I did pick it up a few months before it came out to see what it was about. Didn't really do it for me and then the nail in the coffin was the soundtrack - which I ****ing HATED. Karen O singing with kids grated on my nerves.

Although...if the kid would have gotten eaten at the end, I might have considered watching it.

Such an angry cynic...you just weren't held as a child enough...or too much...or something. I grew up with this book and the movie was beautiful, including the soundtrack.:fedup2: Still love you though little sister.

Darby says the same thing to me, although I think he said I wasn't hugged enough as a child.

I have very sensitive ears! :D My act of protest when I have to listen to something I don't like in Adgy's car? Sing along the way it sounds like to me. He usually ends up taking the CD out. I couldn't take her singing and that kids bop sounding ****. Not to mention there are very few female artists that I actually like.

You're still cool in my book Big Brother, even though you didn't like the soundtrack to Inception and pretty much everything that Hans Zimmer does is pure gold. ;)

I really didn't have an opinion one way or another on Inception's score...I just thought it was as subtle as a glass shard enema. I do not know how you could have sensitive ears and not be overwhelmed by the almost Eraserhead drone of that score. Maybe the theater I saw it in was just too loud but it really did hurt my ears.:winky2:

Oh, maybe "picky" is a better word to describe my ears. Glass shard enema...that sounds delightful. Adgy told me you did not like the score. :P Well that sucks if they put the sound level too high, I don't know what Eraserhead is/was/are but the Inception score is definitely not something you wanna blast in a theater. I did hear rumbling during the movie because of the volume but we were lucky enough to not get our ears roto rootered.

Eraserhead is an endurance test of a movie by David Lynch. But the score for that is notorious for being an industrial(factory, not the music genre)grind on the movie watcher. I have to see Inception on dvd to get a better grasp on the score in relation to the movie.

Pretty cool little flick. It's definitely NOT a comedy, for some reason it's labeled as one. More of an Indie flick than anything else. It has a few laughs, but this is just a REALLY good script and even better acting and character development. Amy Adams does a good job in it, I haven't seen much of her work before. Alan Arkin is great, as always.

for the record - Where the Wild Things Are put me to sleep within a half hour... three times.

i never gave it a 4th chance.
