Last Movie Watched

I saw this again. It's better the second time around.

Besides, any movie that has " THE BREAKUP SONG (They Don't Write 'Em )" always wins.

"We had broken up for good just an hour before,
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah."

:dancing-smiley:

It did get a tad unsavory. I blame Pasolini. And some sick f****s in Ohio.

Now that it's officially behind us, good ol' page 212 can take it's rightful place..... in the anals of time. :drum:

HA!

BTW, after having it on my desk for about 2 months I FINALLY watched The Hurt Locker. I've already cleared a spot on my shelf for it. I'm going to go buy it today. Loved it.

Thought it was a really good film. Didn't know anything about it other than Yoji Yamada had directed this in 1977, so for that reason alone I wanted to see it. The super slow-paced, sparse, but intimately character-driven stories which Yamada does to perfection was also well executed here. Got drawn into the main character from the opening sequence and stayed there.

William Hurt was great, and though it takes a little while you start to care more about the others. Without giving too much away, it slowly builds and sets up what you know will be a very emotional finale - either joyous or deflating. Almost hate to admit that I had to coolly scratch my cheeks (aka wipe a few tears) at the final scenes. That's pretty rare.

Ordering the Yamada version today. His leading lady in the original (Kaori Momoi - my wife's favorite actress) was given a little cameo here. Pretty cool touch.

Hitomi liked and talked about her going waaay back, and was happy I could FINALLY see her in SWD. She's a pretty cool cat.

Nice. She's a weird chick, but she's pretty awesome. She was also in Memoirs Of A Geisha, btw, and Miike's Izo.

Do you know if your wife has seen Faces Of A Fig Tree? Momoi directed, wrote and starred in it. Very strange movie.

Just finished watching a movie a friend lent me called A Serbian Film. Usually not my genre of choice but he said it was hard for him to sit through, and he likes some pretty wicked stuff, and insisted I watch it. If you thought Salo was bad, this had some scenes that went beyond the realms of taste. Truly demented, not sure I could sit through this again.

I want to see that SO BAD.

Pretty enjoyable 70's Italian slasher. I think I Eli Roth mentioned it in an interview about his favorite horror films and that's why I bought a used copy of it.

We hadn't heard of it and are now very intrigued. Just read a few reviews.... wow. Well you did say "very strange". Not too surprising that a preliminary search shows it's not widely available.

Wanna see it even more now. Where did you buy or view it?

I saw it at a film festival a couple years ago. I kind of assumed it'd be available overseas, but I can't say I'm surprised it never made it over here. :(

Watched "Nothing But the Truth" yesterday. Probably Beckinsale's best movie to date. My rating would be a 9/10.

I liked Leon so I decided to check this movie out (also directed by Luc Besson). Was pretty entertaining, nothing spectacular though. Jean Reno makes another appearance as an expert "cleaner."

I watched this this past weekend, too, although not for the first time. I like it a lot.

So on Sunday I thought I'd give The Big Lebowski another chance because Adgy swears that it's good but sometimes you need to watch it more than once. Annnnnnd I tried.

And I still hate this damn movie. It's so ****ing boring and none of the characters or events that are in the movie catch my interest at all. It's a movie about ****ing nothing. 30 mins in and I told Adgy "This movie is too damn long."

So **** it. I tried JD. No one say that I'm not open because I tried to watch this piece of **** ****ing movie and I hate it. :D
