Last Movie Watched

I have a soft spot for movies that focus on hitmen/assassins so I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Was one of the better ones of the genre.

Great movie, love Bergman. For whoever wanted to know of some good Swede films, here's another good one:

Saw a great deal of Bergman's movies. Seventh Seal and Cries & Whispers are definitely among the best. I'd also pick Autumn Sonata as one of the most touching movies ever made. Minimalist, yet charming and real.

Thanks for the tips, Adgy. Already saw Let the Right One In and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo though.

So on Sunday I thought I'd give The Big Lebowski another chance because Adgy swears that it's good but sometimes you need to watch it more than once. Annnnnnd I tried.

And I still hate this damn movie. It's so ****ing boring and none of the characters or events that are in the movie catch my interest at all. It's a movie about ****ing nothing. 30 mins in and I told Adgy "This movie is too damn long."

So **** it. I tried JD. No one say that I'm not open because I tried to watch this piece of **** ****ing movie and I hate it. :D

You're being very undude for not liking The Big Lebowski!

It's a masterpiece to be sure, but certainly a guy thing. Your loathing is perfectly normal. I'm equally suspicious of men who don't like it and women who do.

Speaking of the Coens, watched Blood Simple last night. Forgot how good this was. Cheesy 80's thriller music aside, their eye for stunningly artistic cinematography is obvious even in their very first effort 25 years ago.

Just watched this for the first time, this film is ****ing AMAZING! From the creepy opening song to the climactic finish, the movie was superb.

That's because I'm not a pot head that has remnants of white russian dripping off his beard/moustache and look like I smell like a mixture of limburger cheese and smegma. :D

You're saying it like it's a bad thing.

This film, in my opinion, is vastly underrated. The slow pace of this film may put off some people, but if that doesn't bother you you'll love this movie. It's very dark, and at times very disturbing, but it's superbly directed with several beautiful shots. I'm definitely gonna be watching some more Haneke films in the near future.

I keep seeing that Cache film at the local library all the time, and I just ignore it, but I might have to check it out one of these days.

And I just LOVE LOVE The Innocents! That movie gets the dolphin seal of approval! :good:

We need a better edition though. The Transfer on the DVD is okay, but we need special features! I want special features about the film, Henry James's original story, and Truman Capote's script! :pssst:

I found it quite boring the first time I saw it, as well. My teammates quoted this movie constantly, so I gave it another shot and got the idea. You can't watch it for what happens, it's a movie that's not about what happens, it's about the getting there.

It took me about four tries to "get" Citizen Kane.

If you try it again and still don't like it, I really don't see how Adgy can stay married to you.

I can't do that movie again. It's too boring and I really don't care about "getting there." If I'm going to watch a movie something better happen.

Adgy and I aren't married and if we were I don't see why the fact that I don't like a movie he loves is a deal breaker or a burden on him. What makes you think I'd tolerate someone who liked such crap movies?

Ooof when kids throw things at bears...and the bears jump their cages and eat the kids...well, nobody ever blames the kids.

Don't taunt the bear son...:drinks:

I like The Big Lebowski. Won't try White Russians because of it. Milk + Booze= A Sick Dolphin repuke:

Fargo is my favorite Coen Brothers film for the record.

That is all. Just trying to make conversation. ;)
