Last Movie Watched

Watched The Girl Who Played with Fire a few nights ago. I definitely liked it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than the first movie. It was faster paced and more action packed. In other words, I didnt have to sit through some boring geneology. I find that stuff with Lisbeth is more exciting than Michael. You know, a girl who basically stuns guys in the balls is always going to win favor with me.

I don't know how Darby can like the first one better than this movie. Helloooooo there's muff diving! One thing I can do without is seeing any love scene with Michael and his chick. Bleh. I don't need anymore "older" naked bodies thanks to Tony Leung in Lust Caution.

Incredible rock-umentary. It's available for instant streaming on Netflix's website. This is a must watch doc for any fan of music.

Finished up the Millennium Trilogy on Friday night when we saw The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest. I also liked this movie, though it was not as action packed as the second and fairly long. The court scene in the movie was very good - interesting to see how the court system in Sweden is different than ours.

I did have a problem keeping all the old Swedish dudes straight in the beginning but that was all cleared up towards the end of the movie.

I also gave a try to Scott Pilgrim last night. I will say that in regards to preserving the overall feel of the trades (though there was a lot of omissions and some key changes to the story) the movie did a good job. However, stuff that I didn't like about the trades was also in the movie and made me care less about watching the whole thing through so I ended up falling asleep. :P It wasn't worth a slice of your guiness cake Darbs!!!

Robot Monster, Bride of the Monster, Devil Doll, Devil Fish.

Yes, it was Mystery Science Theater day at my place.

Forgot just how fantastic this movie is!

This is probably the hardest movie to explain to someone that walks into it half way through. In fact, its close to impossible.

Technically it's a TV mini-series, but the season was only 4 episodes so it's like a long movie. House of Cards is such an amazing show, mainly because the character of Machiavellian politician Francis Urquhart is so ****ing fascinating. Definitely recommended for anyone fascinated by the world of politics.

Watched "Into the Wind" the 30/30 ESPN documentary on Terry Fox. His run shows people now how much our cancer treatment options have changed in 30 years.

The first one had a more compelling story. You had no idea what was going on and it drew you in. This one, you knew everything before the finale, so the ending was just a way to finish and it got kinda needlessly superheroish. Nowhere near as much mystery.

And the lesbian chicks weren't that hot. Partially because Noomi Rapace looks like Minnie Driver.

Yeah, but you ended up seeing it anyway and you weren't gonna like it regardless because of your preconceptions. So really, your choices were to see it WITH cake or without. You chose... poorly.

My favorite exploitation film back in print! Still owns all!

Not sure this would appeal to anyone other than fans of Grant Morrison, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. To me, Morrison is one of the most fascinating people alive. After a while of listening to him, it even got to the point where I was able to understand him through his thick Scottish accent.

Compelling story my ass! It was dragged out and painful. The book was worse. Ohhhh she disappeared! Wow. I'm so so compelled.

Whoa dude, what pictures of Minnie Driver have YOU been looking at?!

Scott Pilgrim the movie. Still lame. Ramona and Scott are *******s that still deserve ****. I'm glad Adgy's br player is so old it can't play the br version and he couldn't watch the unnecessary 500 hrs of extras.

Btw, watched Bones and Hostel: Part 2. Bones was just funny with it's "red paint for blood" effects, talk about low budget. I like Snoop so it was still entertaining to watch. Hostel made me wanna barf a couple of times with the gore, but I do like the part where the chick cuts the dude's junk at the balls and then tosses the whole "twig n' berries" unit to the dog. I laughed at that part. This is the 2nd movie I've seen where a dog eats a penis.

Now that's more like it. Bones is a fun flick...they should've gone more blaxploitation though. All the cards were in place they just kind of softened the edges.
And Hostel 2 was better than the first. The p.o.v. of the clients was interesting and it was awesome that the one who did all the talking lost his nerve. Kq and I agree that Wienerdog's death is one of the most affecting deaths in a while. It's hard for me to watch. Not the gore, but the pleading and crying. The wedding tackle was made of gelatin from what I remember...hmmm jello mold anyone?

I thought the maggots in Bones were pretty funny and then something Snoop said about fried chicken when he was munching on the dj. What got me in Hostel 2 was the sound of the scythe going over Heather Matarazzo's skin. I was closing my eyes for pretty much all of that part. Chilling. I was kinda surprised she signed up for this movie, and even agreed to be naked. It was weird seeing her boobies since she strikes me as the awkward, shy, slighty annoying and screeching friend.
