Last Movie Watched

on the spur of the moment i went and saw v for vendetta. interesting how moore didn't want to be credited...makes me want to go out and get the graphic novel just to see the differences between that and the movie.

Saw Derailed last night.
Ok movie, Clive Owen is one of my favorite actors, sorta disturbing (I have this "what would I do, thing") but the twists were slightly predictable...
Don't put it at the top of the queue but get around to it sometime.

I missed the game last night because I was at the Silverlake Film Festival seeing Clean.

Maggie Cheung is the greatest actress ever. Especially in this movie.

Also saw a Korean horror film called Red Eye. Not to be confused with the recent Wes Craven film.

Wasn't very good. Had some decent creepy bits, but the storyline was lame.
 
Saw "Ray" for the first time last night.

Great movie and increased my respect for Ray Charles about 1000%.

Ray's life was hard, to say the very least, and to accomplish what he did is really saying something about how strong a person he was. And being a musical genius on top of all of it? Incredible.
 
I saw this one a few nights ago. Pretty good movie with some pretty graphic scenes. If you have ever wanted to know what someone looks like after being shot in the top of the head, you should check this out.

Saw this Sunday night. Like just about any horror flick, you can pick it apart in retrospect, but it's definately one of the better shock-flicks I've seen this decade...

Wow, really good movie.


The film is just as confusing as it's subject; time travel. If you're a fan of Daron Aranovsky's Pi and 70's era science fiction movies, this is right up your alley. I don't want to talk about it too much, because I saw it pretty cold footed and loved it. If it means anything to you, it won the Grand Jury selection at Sundance in 04.

Every few months I go through a "what great Oscar winning movie have I not yet seen" faze.
9 out of 10 times I'm disappointed.
Out of Africa wasn't horrible, it was just so predictable.

The scenery was gorgeous, the fact that it was a true story was neat but that was all it had.
Meryl Streep wasn't pleasant to look at.
It was a very long movie and 10 minutes into the movie if you were asked to predict the ending, you'd hit it straight on.

And I'll give you another plus, one of the best scores by one of the best film composers ever. John Barry rules x 2.

This was without question one of the years best films.
This is a great action movie with computer animation that is truly believable.
Jack Black is miss-cast but Peter Jackson's visual masterpiece completely overshadows anything negative about this film.

I liked it, but not as much as I'd hoped to. The movie description on the back says it's one of the "most beautiful films ever made", but I didn't find it to be that. Very well done, sure, but... it wasn't exactly a Kurosawa film.

Certainly not a bad movie, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
 
I got a review copy of Pray in the mail today and watched that tonight.

It reminded me of the Kings because it was horrible. Not scary, not creepy, poorly acted, and cliche. Ugh.
