Drummer Bill Ward Releases A Statement Regarding The Black Sabbath Album And Tour | Rock News | Eddie Trunk

Drummer Bill Ward of Black Sabbath announces that unless presented with a fair agreement, he will not be able to continue with the Black Sabbath album and tour. His statement reads:

"Dear Sabbath Fans, Fellow Musicians and Interested Parties,

At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the Black Sabbath album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a "signable" contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band. Last year, I worked diligently in good faith with Tony, Ozzy and Geezer. And on 11/11/11, again in good faith, I participated in the L.A. press conference. Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another “unsignable” contract was handed to me.

Let me say that although this has put me in some kind of holding pattern, I am packed and ready to leave the U.S. for England. More importantly, I definitely want to play on the album, and I definitely want to tour with Black Sabbath.

Since the news of Tony's illness, and the understanding that the band would move production to the U.K., I've spent everyday getting to or living in a place of readiness to leave. That involves something of a task, and as I've tried to find out what's going on with the U.K. sessions, I've realized that I've been getting "the cold shoulder" (and, I might add, not for the first time). Feeling somewhat ostracized, my guess is as of today, I will know nothing of what's happening unless I sign "the unsignable contract."

The place I'm in feels lousy and lonely because as much as I want to play and participate, I also have to stand for something and not sign on. If I sign as-is, I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician. I believe in freedom and freedom of speech. I grew up in a hard rock/metal band. We stood for something then, and we played from the heart with honesty and sincerity. I am in the spirit of integrity, far from the corporate malady, I am real and honest, fair and compassionate.

If I'm replaced, I have to face you, the beloved Sabbath fans. I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original Black Sabbath lineup as promoted. Without fault finding, I want to assure everyone that my loyalty to Sabbath is intact.

So here I am. I lay my truth down before you. I'm good to go IF I get a “signable” contract. I don't want to let anyone down, especially Black Sabbath and all the Sabbath fans. You know I love you. It would be a sad day in Rock if this current situation fell to the desires of a few.

My position is not greed-driven. I'm not holding out for a "big piece" of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal. I’d like something that recognizes and is reflective of my contributions to the band, including the reunions that started fourteen years ago. After the last tour I vowed to never again sign on to an unreasonable contract. I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning.

That's the story so far.

Stay safe and stay strong.

I love every single one of you.

--Bill Ward"

Sweeeeet. Gotta get that album! I've got B.S.'s first, and it's in regular rotation on the Mp3 player.

Anyone else watching Metal Evolution on VH1? awesome documentary series by Sam Dunn guy who made Metal: A headbangers journey.

Most of the info is well known by many but the way it is presented is top notch/entertaining and follows the same academic almost anthropological style of his previous work.

Ozzy's Boneyard

BLABBERMOUTH.NET - ZAKK WYLDE's 'Rock & Roll Roast' To Be Broadcast On OZZY OSBOURNE's SiriusXM Channel

Well, mixed so far. I have to say, it needed a shakeup. Zep/Metallica/Rush/Maiden every hour gets f'n tired. I actually heard old Deftones being played yesterday. A lot of interviews with Ozzy/Sharon re: Ozzfest, etc. Needs some work, but anything that breaks the repetetive cycle is ok with me. Wonder what's going on with Eddie Trunk's show. So far he's been mum on the subject. We'll find out Monday. Really it should be EDDIE TRUNK'S BONEYARD, but i guess that doesn't have the same clout.

This is a couple days old by now but...

Alternative Press | News | Killswitch Engage, Jesse Leach comment on reunion

It looks like his first show back with the band will be at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival on April 22nd: BANDS < NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL

Definitely going to miss Howard and he is probably the reason KSE is where they are today but if there is one guy I would want to replace him, it would be Jesse. Both legit lead vocalists and both sound similar (which is why Howard got the gig in the first place after Jesse left).

damn, didn't even know howard left but jesse is definitely the only choice for the band. it'll be interesting to hear him do some of the howard songs.

well, this blows

Eddie Trunk Live & Boneyard | Blog - Trunk Report | Eddie Trunk

Sorry to inform everyone that it appears my satellite radio show Eddie Trunk Live will no longer be heard on The Boneyard effective immediately. As you all know if you listen to the channel it changed on Wed to "Ozzy's" Boneyard, with the Osbourne family now controlling it. Apparently my four hours of live radio with legendary artists as guests didn't fit in the plans. I was made aware of this on Thursday and have been laid up sick with a cold/flu so have not been able to learn much more. I want to stress this does not necessarily mean the end of me on SiriusXM and management has expressed interest in working something out,, however what's next is a question mark. I prided myself on doing all I could with extremely limited resources to host and produce a compelling show every week, with guests, requests, your calls, and a great variety of new and classic hard rock and metal. The amount of people I hear from who made my show appointment listening as I travel around the US was mind blowing, not to mention all the artists themselves who listened and came on the show. The list of guests over the years is just incredible. Again, I'm not saying this is a done deal,, but it appears to be for the Boneyard (or "Ozzy's" version) for now. I'll learn more about what options exist for me in the coming week and keep you posted. Moving to another channel may be an option but obviously it has to make sense to do the show you have all listened to and so greatly supported. Keep an eye on this space and my Twitter for news as I get it. Just wanted to keep you in the loop so you knew what was up when Monday rolls around and I'm not on Boneyard. Again, no matter what happens I am grateful for all the support! Also please note none of this has any impact at all on my weekly FM Syndicated show which continues live from NYC on Friday nights on Q104.3 and affiliate stations and outlets.

Ghost is a swell band! And their album cover is an homage to 'Salem's Lot! And they sing songs about the dark one! evil:
