On the good news front, a couple days ago we told you about the Danzig Legacy plans for Riot Fest where Glenn plans to reunite with Samhain Members and Doyle from The Misfits (see that report here) Now comes word of a Danzig Legacy TV Special.
Danzig's site simply said, "We can let you know that a Danzig Legacy TV Special is being Filmed in Los Angeles this Summer to be Directed by Mark Brooks (Adult Swim's Metaldcalypse}." They promised more details soon. We'll keep you posted.
"Choking Victim", a new song from FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, the project featuring James "Munky" Shaffer (KORN) on guitar, Billy Gould (FAITH NO MORE) on bass, and Steve Krolikowski (REPEATER) on vocals, can be downloaded for free at Fear And The Nervous System | Coming Soon. The track is also available for streaming in the YouTube clip below.
Shaffer previously stated about FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, "I started this project because I want to express myself musically and show the world a different side of me creatively."
Other musicians who were involved during the early FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM recording sessions include Brooks Wackerman (BAD RELIGION, TENACIOUS D) on drums and percussion; Leopold Ross on programming and guitars; and Zach Baird on keyboards and programming.
According to a press release, FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM is "an exciting project that opens up the boundaries of rock, harkening back to the days when music was fearless."
Atlanta, Georgia based heavy metal outfit Mastodon has revealed the front cover artwork for their forthcoming new studio album, "The Hunter." You can check it out below. The album will be released in October through Reprise Records. Some song titles set to appear on the album include, "The Octopus Has No Friends," "All The Heavy Lifting" and "Blasteroids."
What is everybody's take on the new Hate Eternal? I thought their debut was awesome and among the heaviest in all of death metal. The new one? Way too modern sounding - click, click, thrown in a blender, and too modern sounding almost to the point of deathcore or whatever the popular genre is now. Really sucks because Rutan is such a talented musician and producer, and one hell of a guy I've chatted with before. I am sure he stands behind his work, but this new one..... not really for me.
